I'll be on the look out for some demo impressions. Playing a completely Japanese demo really isn't for me..

Buying the Emblem edition PS3 will enter you into a raffle for some rare Yakuza gambling items. The grand prize is a set of Yakuza mahjong tiles. Other items include a chi-ho bowl, mouse pad, t-shirt and coin purse..

Every year same thing. Not sure they will bring it over blah blah then it comes over then you guys are like OMG can't believe they did it and then Yakuza 67 gets announced ..OMG not sure they will bring it over! Yet every single game minus the PSP game they brought over

I sure hope you are right.. Thing is "Yas" (a senior producer) who was a driving force in localizing Yakuza 4 and Of the End left Sega america. Most people on the official board see this as evidence that the franchise got axed due to the bad financial situation of SEGA. I really fear we won't get this game, especially because it has so much more content than the last games. I hope I'm wrong but I really am not sure this time..

You never know. Yas left on his own accord, he wasn't part of the redundancies that happened around that time. I know because I spoke to him via private message.

Yakuza wasn't the only title he worked on either, he also worked on Sonic Generations.

up to the final chapter in Y4, im loving all the little throwbacks to the first Yakuza.

also Im unimpressed by the yakuza 5 demo! they said they had a brand new game engine.... where is it?

remain hopeful that it will see the west though. They don't exactly have to break the bank to make it happen!

In general though who else thinks the franchise just needs to stop or take a break. Let things stir in the memory for a bit. I mean they've pretty much covered every possible plot point in the underworld. They need to have some sort of cut off point or long term plans...

Well, I don't know if the series will take a break but it is hugely popular in Japan. Sadly, its popularity isn't inspiring Sega to make more Shenmue

I just remembered when typing my post in the GOTY topic that the reason I got my PS3 in the first place was to play the yakuza series, now I'm going to be even more pissed if Y5 doesn't make it to the west

I know the ps3 is region free, why would i import a text heavy game in a language i dont understand?

Sometimes it might be your only option. Funny I went one year playing Japanese exclusive games without knowing the language and I started studying a year later LOL.

considering I mainly play yakuza for the story (and many substories) it isn't an option at all
