HA!
I pity the fools who bought this thing.

That's the excuse every big time company makes to justify their failures.

And I dunno if its "love". More like consumers are not ready for the jump or (hopefully) they view physical media as necessary and not obsolete.

Expect to see Sony's shares fluctuate on the build up to their next console launch. Won't move much but it will be noticeable.

They made money on every unit sold from the off. Bad press doesn't make it a failure.. A case of good concept but badly executed. I wonder how long they'll be manufactured after the PSP-4000 upgrade.

Just keep the UMD drive, can still keep the PSN store also plus add a second analog. I love the go's design as it goes with many modern cell phone designs.
Also add front, back camera's. Even with these added features they could still keep it sub 200$

Even if you lose some money on initial sale if you hit that sweet spot in price you make up for in volume and gain profit back plus software sales.

Making a system with less features than an existing model mainly the most important thing UMD support and just letting developers decide if they want to make two versions....wow what idiot decided that?
Then make it cost more than the more supported and feature filled model?!
Some gullible idiots wearing white gloves bought a ketchup popsicle.
Most were thankfully smart enough to avoid it.

PSP is awesome. PSPgo is a PSP minus the awesome.

As Charles Barkley would say. "That's Turrible!"

The thing with the Go was from the start it was a premium product. It was $50 below that of a slim PS3! I think it fits the bill as an 'experiment' product, they were low in manufacture (but if that due to retail refusing stock then scrap this point) and high in price and it's main feature was digital distribution. They made instant profit off every unit sold and if one person bought software then they were laughing all the way to the bank..

Until they realized it was costing them more to make the thing and ship them since the only person they made profit on selling a PSPgo was Joka.

They now have warehouses stacked with these things.

So how much do you think they really lost on this endeavor? Or is it too early to tell?

Sony can afford to have a failed product I'd say.

I agree with the price argument. But not only am I a collector. I am also much more fond of the size of the Go and the fact of internal memory. i pondered for a whle before buying it. trust me, the only downside is not having crisis core on the network. the screen is crisper, it supports bluetooth, and its much funner to carry. you dont lose all you think. stop masturbating to umd's. half a year ago all of u acknowledged that umd's were a dying format. now that the WORLD is going digital u all cry over umds

Not a fan of UMD's but would have them over downloads any day of the week.

Yup and DS just gets it by using flash memory carts.
The best format of the two.

Today when I went to buy Peace Walker, I saw the PSP go for $199 Aud and it included 10 Free game downloads. They must be trying pretty hard to sell them now.
