Is it easy to understand despite being in Japenese?

I hear that concerning gameplay it is accesible even with the language barrier. You will mostly miss only the story parts.

^^Yeah, pretty much it. The controls during the puzzle parts consist entirely of moving with the D-pad and manipulating blocks by holding down circle. Not much else to it, really. Thus far at least.

Same development team, same art style, same music style... so yeah, you might like it. As long as you're okay with puzzle gameplay.

Apparently the game is so difficult, Atlus have come out and apologised for it and promised a patch to fix it.

:-s
What a pathetic world we live in now, where people complain so much about difficulty in a game that the company has to issue an apology.
Make these fucking kids these days play the original Battletoads. Let's see if Rare will apologize for that.

And it's the Japanese who are the ones complaining too who you thought would be all over that shit.

I know Square make alot of their games easier for the Japenese then for us out West. It's not until the Final Mix version that they get a harder game.

If Atlus has to say sorry for a game being hard you know it's going to be tough.

Actually, I always heard they like their games easier and that many western versions of various famous games are harder than it's original conuterparts.

He might be right. Games have been sort of "mainstream" in Japan for far longer than they have in the west, and when things get to be mainstream, they usually end up being made to be easier on the palette.
Plus, as was said, lots of Japanese games have ended up being changed to be more difficult when they come out over here, such as Silhouette Mirage or Wonderboy in Monster World. Or how DMC3's normal mode over here was actually the hard mode in Japan. Heard lots of examples of that stuff, but not so many of western games being harder in Japan.
