Oh, shit.
I wonder if that "give up" move is available at any time, or if that's just kind of a level-specific sequence?
Really cool either way. Tricking your potential captors into getting close. Good stuff.

Difficulty levels

Enhanced: Easy
Supreme training and a physique enhanced beyond ordinary human capacity mean that your enemies are no match for you. By cunning or by brute force, you are unstoppable.

Players can activate additional checkpoints
Instinct regenerates
Instinct will provide hints
Enemies react more slowly than normal

Enhanced: Medium
You can rely on Agent 47's superior training and instinct. Remaining completely unnoticed can be a challenge, but you can always rely on your guns to get you out of trouble.

Players can activate additional checkpoints
Instinct does not regenerate
Instinct will provide hints
Normal enemy presence with normal reaction times

Professional: Hard
You like a challenge and your enemies will provide you with just that. They will be more numerous and with faster reactions. Evading your enemies will be difficult and you must strike with flawless timing.

Players can activate additional checkpoints
Instinct depletes when used and does not regenerate
No instinct hints
Additional enemies with improved reaction time

Professional: Expert
You fight for every inch of progress, often without firing a single bullet. You don't rely on any help and accept trying many times before reaching your target...and perfection.

No player-activated checkpoints
Instinct depletes when used and does not regenerate
No instinct hints
Maximum number of enemies with fastest reacton

Professional: Purist
This is a challenge for a true perfectionist. You know every rule, every detail, and all environments by heart. Even then you will die trying.

No Help
No guides
No Interface
Only a crosshair

Goddammit.
I thought I was done with being super-excited for anything for the rest of the year. Of course I'd temporarily forgotten about this.
Me is ready too.

^Not to be harbinger of bad news but I wouldn't get too excited if I were you. Apparently it's poo :(

From the PC gamer review

62/100 - A passable stealth game, but one that betrays almost everything that, until now, has made Hitman great.

No saving, checkpoint system is awful - even an AI glitch can lead to you having to restart the level, also doesn't save data such as disguises or items you've left, and guards killed will respawn

Three-quarters of these levels are purely about traversal, getting from A to B to move the story forwards, and if you're given anyone to kill, it happens in a cutscene or scripted slow-mo event. The other quarter do give you a target to kill, and a choice of how, but that segmentation (of the levels) means you're operating in a space that isn't as rich or complex as a typical Blood Money mission

I desperately hope the reaction is strong enough to convince the developers to change direction, because I couldn't stand to watch the series die like this

Oh deary dear, that is pretty damn damning  how could the developers get it so wrong and ruin such a good formula?

If all of that is true, then they've really done a piss-poor job of advertising it. Yeah, the point of advertising is to play up a game's merits, make it look appealing as possible. But in everything they've shown, the game has looked like it has the same basic setup of previous games, with little done to make it more "streamlined" or "mainstream" (which, obviously, is an appealing prospect to previous fans) aside from the "sense" ability.
Hoping the review is just some longtime fan whining because one thing or another is different, and they're just making it sound worse than it is. Fanboys tend to do that, so hopefully this is one of them.

I'm sure even if those things were true and game breaking you wouldn't mind.

no offense but you throw "fanboy" around alot and are pretty quick to point someone out as fanatical, but very accepting of things that are outside the normal play style of a series.

I honestly don't understand how what we've already seen can be considered blasphemous to he Hitman series.
