Contracts has 4 levels from 1 and is without a doubt the darkest of the Hitman games. Its also probably the most unforgiving.

Yeah, it's the least forgiving too.

The most punishing.

Least leninet.

It doesn't really, I made that part up.

after watching that trailer for absolution...im a bit worried. it just seems too lenient. i feel like that level they showed really only showed one route to play the level. (run on sentences anyone?) im not gonna give up on it yet since that was just ONE level. im also upset theres no map. i mean shit u look at the map 70 percent of the game, watching your target. either way im happy for this game tho and cant wait for it

EDIT:

what happened to 47 being a SILENT assassin??????????

That first trailer is from the training level. Blood Moneys was linear as was SA's.

Eh, artbook, making-of DVD... it's all well and good, but for a series like Hitman, it doesn't strike me as the kind of stuff that should be in a special edition (which will likely be about 20 bucks more than the regular version).
Nothing wrong with the visual style, but an artbook is hardly worth getting excited about. And I seriously doubt there are any off-the-wall stories about its development in the making-of.
The game still looks excellent to me, but I'll just be getting the standard edition.

Yeah ill probably just get the normal version. Would have like a 47 figure or something but at the moment unless a demo or gameplay vids completly change my mind im not getting this right away.

Nah, for a special edition, they should have... a capgun version of one of 47's iconic pistols.
That would make it an insta-buy for me.

I came to this topic to post the same thing. Now I don't feel alone and a hater.

I just figure an artbook is only appropriate for something more stylized; the Hitman series, despite actually having some great real-world-style design work (let's face it, 47 is pretty much iconic by now, and still instantly-identifiable), is usually just a lot of cops, guys in suits, and realistic architecture. It's like getting an artbook for a Michael Mann film; they're usually really good movies, but the design work is just... stuff. It's just not really the point.
