thing is its the only really viable option right now. Whats revolutionary is how much work is being put behind it but as I mentioned before its not necessarily new. Every wonder why theres 3 Actors credited to Chris Redfield in RE 5?
Basically for now its gotta be done this way, because this is the only way to make a plausible game, which i think is the most important word there. You could make a CG only "game" that plays like heavy rain, IE QTE to QTE on a straight path.
whatever he's using likely won't be out for a while and even if it is its not going to be a system that goes very far. LA Noire, Shenmue, Onimusha etc are games that are not exactly small so using an expensive new technology that wasn't created for interactivity isn't exactly good for games that are 100x bigger and more interactive then something like Heavy Rain.
plus like I said before when he's ready to have something out, other companies will be ready to use the technology as well (and most likely more effectively)
