teaser site (btw this is from the same team that did ES on 360)

The music on the teaser site reminds me of Shenmue

That must mean that Tri-Crescendo is making it then.

The music playing in the background of that site is really fucking good btw.

Those games were pretty much going to suck from the begining.

Only reason Ubi's Red Steel sold well it was a launch title and launch titles are snatched up with new hardware,Dragon blade always looked like some POS,and people know when fightning games try and go spinoffs they are crap as a general rule.

This is an original RPG and by the same team who developed Eternal Sonata for 360,Namco knows how to do RPGs and do them well.

So your argument is weak and mute.

What do those games have anything to do with a new RPG?

Fable/Fable: The Lost Chapters (Xbox) and Dark Cloud 2 (PS2).

Just make sure you stay away from the first one. :P It's not an awful game, but I can't imagine it's aged very well, and the second improves upon it significantly in every way. Since the stories don't connect, either, you won't be missing anything.

If you feel like a retro game try ShadowRun on Sega Genesis or Breath of Fire 1 or 2 for super nintendo

So you mean an action RPG, right?

Zelda: Wind Waker (it is an action RPG, by my definition)
Dark Cloud 2 (AKA Dark Chronicle)
.Hack// series (Starting off with "Infection")
Baroque
Parasite Eve series (PSX, but still, essential)

And yes, Mass Effect wipes away every other RPG of this generation. If you like intricate detailed storylines with a great cast of characters, then this is it.

Pretty much every single western developed RPG then.

Although while a Japanese RPG Tales of Symphonia is real time.

You don't like turn-based? Then why even bother with RPGs in the first place? Just go play an action game.

No matter. Try another Tales game. Tales of the Abyss ended up being my favorite in the series.
Also, since I love the Shin Megami Tensei series so much, I'll suggest the only action-RPG in the series: Devil Summoner for PS2.
