PS4 Under Development claims Sony CFO

Wonder what crazy plans they have in store for the PS4. No technical details, but we have our topic for how ever many months/years (possibly days since E3 is coming up?) it will take to get some more info on this. Any expectations about what you want to see from the PS4? I definitely want to hear Sagata's opinion on that.

my opinion is very simple

if they rush out hardware its not going to help anyone, hopefully this console is like 3 or 4 years off because in their haste they could be unprepared for the inevitable day that all the "fake money" (money generated by firings, money being dumped into execs pockets, money being dumped into development but not being shown in returns) will come back to bite a lot of companies in the ass. And with Activision planning total saturation the mainstream media is going to get sick of shooters. So they'll have this expensive console stacked with shooters and they might have to rush out another console which could lead to a dip in consumer loyalty and confidence (which isn't exactly high considering the PSN breach, even if it isn't their fault)

Don't release it until 2014 otherwise fuck th industry with rushed consoles. 360 and PS3 were rushed. It needs to stop

I say they should wait until NGP releases first, otherwise some people might decide to wait for the PS4 instead. Haven't Sony lost enough money already? They need to be more cautious about rushing out another console. I say this as a fan of Sony.

I'm a big fan of PlayStation but probably won't get it for a couple of years after it's release. Maybe the Slim version.

i hate how Wii 2 is gonna force a rushed console era (possibly) Microsoft should really be sensible and not move, but if they see their two rivals plan a new console release, then no doubtedly they will follow suit

Sony might but I doubt Xbox will. Kinect is doing so well it might as well be Xbox 3. However I am annoyed I am always catching up to the industry.

Its not necessarily Nintendo's fault, their console is woefully underpowred at this point and its been 5 years, but xbox and ps3 could last a few more years considering we're just now seeing a load of games that actually have decent framerates and aren't 6 hours long.

They just need to sit on their hands for a few more years.

For crying out loud, Sony... You needed to fall for it, hadn't you? Nintendo talks about Project Café and your word and your promises mean nothing.

If you release it in the next two years it will blow on your face and you know what? You will be reaping what you have sow.

this needs a good 2 year development and release in 2014. Same for the next xbox, I guess one of those companies has to decide who is going to get the upper hand though. could be tricky. Of course that is going to leave nintendo behind again, UNLESS project cafe ends up being significantly more powerful than both consoles out right now. Then I think Sony and Microsoft will be scrambling to get their next system out the door to compete, which will ultimately fuck them. and TBH the PS3 wasnt rushed, the 360 was, thus RROD on 30%+ of the original models, what was BS about the PS3 is the features that kept getting taken out.

PS3 was rushed not as rushed as 360. Sony wanted another year of development but felt pressured when 360 launched.

I really don't think people need to worry. Most system's start being worked on as soon as the last one comes out. Nintendo have always been pretty open that as soon as the Wii came out they was working on their next hardware.
