<incredibly excited

I wonder if we'll see heavy 3ds interactivity.

New details have surfaced from yesterday's reports that Nintendo is set to unveil its newest console, codenamed "Project Cafe."

According to our sources, the new Nintendo controller will feature dual analog sticks in addition to standard d-pad and trigger buttons. It'll mirror a Gamecube controller in general function but not in specific form.

French website 01.net has published additional details (via Develop), that say the touch capable screen on the controller is 6 inches in size, but we were unable to confirm the accuracy of the report. Additional details about the console's hardware specs could also not be confirmed.

Players will actually be able to stream game content to the controller screen from the console. It's unclear at this time what type of content it will be, whether it's full games you can take with you on the go, mini-games or applications.

At E3 in June, our sources also said Nintendo will show first and third party titles at the event, but it's unsure if they'll be playable or only in video form.

Update: Sources now confirm to IGN the new Nintendo controller allows players to stream entire games to the device from the console, saying it's like a miniature television. The screen size on the controller is also confirmed to be six inches in size.

I'm willing to buy all this since IGN was 100% right about the NGP. Sounds call to me but I can't see many times when I will use the smaller screen. I'd rather wait an hour or two if someone is watching the TV so I can play it on a big screen.

If that is true the 'small screen' is really a spiritual sucessor to the VMU, a rather ambitious one at that.

This new data makes it more interesting.
In theory.

Let' see about the games.

By the way... Project... Cafe?... Ok...

Imagine them showing something else. Not two games that have carried the brand for over 25 years.

Not that would be something.

To be fair they did secure rights and fund development of a lot of new ideas. Plus new series and launch games don't really mix. Heck even when the nes came out Super Mario bros was an established ip.

I'm also not just talking sales but quality as well. A good new idea might be stretched too thin because its being rushed out for release and you can't send out devkits too early because your competitors will capitalize (see psp, which despite being in development longer then ds but had a lot of build issues and while it did well for what it is, was totally spanked when compared to the ds)

Case in point Dark Cloud which got hyped to heaven but was not really what everyone was looking for. (I have and love both Dark Cloud games)

But I always wanted to see how a Zelda 1080P will look like. Just imagine link sword & Shield the dungeons. It must be really amazing.

Everyone complains about the next Zelda title being the same old thing rehashed... but I've always felt that each title has been great. I will always look forward to my new Zelda games because I thoroughly enjoy playing them. As for Mario I've never really been a fan of the games besides the RPG ones. However, I won't deny that they are well made games.

I think this is Nintendo chance to get exclusive rights for the entire Shenmue series for Wii 2 and hype the game. Revealing along with Wii 2 showing its capabilities and have it as a launch title.

So yea project cafe is (as we all figured) more then just a rumor. Sounds like Nintendo will start showing it off this coming week.

Now I was thinking and for some reason the idea of a touch screen made me wonder how long it'd be till someone tries to use their penis on the touch screen..........

can't wait to try it

I asked about it to the producers and they said they were going to see it this week.
