Eh, nothin, thing is they aren't if not for eidos they'd have posted losses for the last 4 years (the Japanese part of the business hasn't posted a significant gains in a whiiiile)
Plus whats the point of makin money if you won't spend it?
I could get into a whole long explanation of how money gets spent by a studio but I'll just leave it at this; when you beat a game, most of those names never see get an increase if the game does well, but if it did badly they could see a decrease or lose their jobs. A chunk of the people WILL lose their jobs if the game was a AAA title.
I want to make money, I want to make tons of it but I do what I do because I enjoy it, the fact that I make money doing it is a really nice perk, more then that i want to give it to other people so that they can make themselves money and make me some too. This is the problem with corporations, they remove the individuals from the equation. The corporation as an entity must sustain itself and search for growth but in reality the janitor or technician that relies on the corporate might be sacrificed to feed growth. Why do you think hundreds are laid off after every Call of Duty. They'll be replaced by young talent that will be underutilized, underpaid and burnt out before being let go and replaced by new young talent. Who is this helping?
