whats funnier? The fact that Square-Enix is fully integrating middleware or that fact that they have access to two engines one is not compatible with the 360 while ht other can't run on either. Both run on the Wiiu.

If you want to make your Wifi Vita 3G without the AT&T contract here is how (you will need a smartphone and no it's not a hardware mod)

That is definitely cool and reason enough to not get the 3g version, much less the damn contract and monthly services. Only problem is, now you have 2 batteries to worry about going low, your phone and PSVita. Although if you are on a carrier with unlimited data service plans, this could be epic, the data plans from at&t are so shit... Really though, the whole idea seems like a no brainer, I dont think all the smartphone devices can be used as hot spots, but I believe most of the current ones do.

PS3 update today, just warning those so they know they will have to wait at least a few minutes to play when they turn theirs on.

I thought this was a pretty good article that made some very valid points. It's interesting to observe the fallout on twitter from certain games journalist's who seem to feel offended by this article, yet also completely miss most of it's points.

Dan "shoe" Hsu former editor of EGM I remember did a similar article like this. He even turned down a big screen TV because it hurts the dignity. Leo Laporte never accepts free gadgets and buys them instead so he can be fair without any obligation. Jeff Gerstman got fired for a shitty score for a shitty game (forgot what it was) but was sponsored.

Excuse my possible ignorance, but what point is that article trying to make?
That gaming "journalists" are a pathetic joke, easily able to be bought and swayed? That the majority of those who call themselves "gaming journalists" barely even have a legitimate love or understanding of the medium they write about? That gaming is, unfortunately, a commercial medium now, and has a whole lot of sellout bullshit associated with it?
I don't see how any of this is news, nor how it's any different from any other part of life. The idiots of the world have, by and large, always been the most selfish, the most vocal, and the most widely-exposed of human beings. I don't get why anyone would expect the gaming medium, as it grows into greater prominence, to be any different.
I suppose I'll just go back to enjoying my games and not caring what some "journalist" thinks about it.
