Good online Import sites/game stores

Postby Bluecast » Thu Oct 20, 2011 12:01 am

This is a topic for stores that are not amazon Gamestop/Game and such.

This site may look ugly but trust me I never had a problem. This is a great Japan Import site with good prices and sometimes hase a buy 2 Famicom Games get one free.
Japan Game Stock

This is great website for retro collectors. ESP for systems like Genesis/N64/SNES as while you can of course buy the games but buy the manuals and boxes to other games. Lets say you have Ranger X on Genesis but need the box. Well if they have it in stock you can buy it. Not repro's either. Originals.
TradenGames

EDIT: Forgot one. Manny goes here sometimes. :P
Video Games New York

If you have any great sites feel free to add them.

Genki - UK based

ConsoleMAD - UK Based

Japan Games

Console Passion - UK Based

Video Game Imports - UK Based

The first (Genki) and the last (VGImports), have by far the best catalogues.

Which one of these(or maybe another site) would be best for getting import consoles?

For sure skipping play asia for older Japan imports. Japan Game Stock is very cheap and reliable. You say that copy of Ys. It was hard as they had Ys 3 & IV for PCE.

For you Play Asia guys you will love this. They are like a mom and pop of play asia. You can get for example a mint copy of grandia on Sega Saturn for 5$!

In NYC

http://www.getreadytogame.com/

http://jnlgame.com/

They're both pretty small so its generally better to go to em (especially since you can't shop with J&L that I know of) but they're both great stores.

Videogames NY is insanely pricey in regards to most older titles, though I respect their ability to stock most of it. Too much for my blood, though I'm still supportive of their operation. On the contrary however, their amazing in regards to selling new games cheap and early.

Spiggin' of which.. why do Nintendo games always take so long to go down in price?

Is it because of Nintendo or they're somehow more inherently collectible?

It's partly also because Nintendo games have a much longer shelve life/ sales cycle then other games. They can afford to maintain their prices.

It's the only game in the Mana series I haven't played/beaten and supposedly it's the best one. I'm just not a huge fan of playing on an emulator so this would be perfect. It's a bit expensive though so I'm not sure if I can really justify it.

Worlds Game Store
South Highland Drive Salt Lake city utah 84106
801-486-1442

HUUUUUUUGE store with a great selection. Prices are a bit steep but they offer a lot of buy 2 get one free and 10$ off.

Site is down atm but MANNY COME TO SLC YOU SEXY BASTARD! And you can see this store. It's a cool place. I do like how the store itself is dark as hell in terms of very low lighting. I just do. Imports, retro, merch, systems.
Love the place
