^^Cross is from one of the comic series. I think it was an attempt by them to make AC more of an integrated multimedia franchise. But I agree, it is pretty random if you aren't familiar with the comics he comes from.

He's mentioned in Revelations but reaaaaaly briefly. I'm all for media integration but its alittle silly that someone who is actually pretty major in the storyline especially in the current state of Templar/Assassin relations is just in a few cutscenes and

gets killed off after freaking out

Thats kinda of what I mean by them rushing things. Big poppa Kenway needed his own game, one that didn't have hunting or sea battle and focused on stealth and politics. Then Ratonaketon needed his own game that was focused on hunting and native life in the colonies. Then Desmond needed his own game about being an assassin. They proved modern Assassin's creed works.

Instead of taking their time and developing each idea they threw them in one game, fucked the story for all three and helf implemented some mechanics that weren't completely fleshed out. Thats why I'm alittle worried about the series.

(also I feel like most historians, the ones who work on black flag will do my culture a disservice. I'm not longer seeing a "native" protagonist from another tribe, the ones that are in black flag, if they choose to even acknowledge us, are my direct ancestors)

I guess I'm warming to it, I'll likely grab it on WiiU or PS4.

The big problem was just that they took too long to get to the final stretch of Desmond's story (which I don't entirely mind, since it means we got to play as Ezio two more times). They wanted to beat the 2012 deadline, which is why the game was rushed. They probably (very likely, actually) wanted to do all the things you mention, but had to squeeze it all into one game, which of course results in lots of content cuts. It's a damn shame.
Of course, they might try to remedy that post-AC3 by making things like Black Flag (if it turns out to be true that the main character is Haytham's dad).

Some people actually like Ys V the best and Ys III. MItts I think is one that likes AC 1 a lot.

I really fucking liked that trailer. Tropical settings, ship-to-ship action, implied interracial threesomes... all sounds good.
The trailer might also indicate that there could be a legitimate underwater swimming mechanic now (there wasn't before, was there? If there was, I'm strangely blanking on it). And hey, maybe there'll be treasure hunts as well. Love that kind of thing, if pulled off correctly.

Alright, paint me excited.
