Why does everyone keep calling it a platformer, theres no platforms or jumping aside from the millisecond you spend playing as one of the kids. As well bought even if 90% of people don't know what it actually is.

I never played the original, but this does look quite nice.
Put this, Sonic Adventure 2 HD, and JSR HD on a disc, and that'd be a buy. As in the "first day" variety.

I also like that this is an HD conversion of a 32-bit game. I'd love to see more of those.

I'm just trying to figure out how in 2012 a game that was really a shiny demo for Saturn analog to fly through endless hoops still holds up. Everything has analog now and 3D isn't new anymore.

The re-release doesn't look that good to me.

For some reason, I rather play the original Saturn version despite it being the exact same thing. Probably cause I played very little of it back in the day and would prefer to experience the game in its original form.

The original Ys doesn't hold up anymore either. The only way they can make it work now is by changing the controls and graphics completely, while keeping the same basic game in place.
But the original version?
Plays like poo now.
Starfox, as well, was basically just a tech demo for 3D graphics on the SNES, and I still see you pining over it, and its 64 iteration.

Nights is just a cute, fun, arcade-style game that people have some nostalgia for. And this HD version is obviously being made as a love note to existing fans.
Nothing wrong with that. No more so than another re-release of Ys I and II.

Awesome! Sega, obviously I would pay good money for retail releases of your classics now in HD, but at least you know how to rock it out digitally!

Capcom lost nearly all the code to Okami and had to be made almost from scratch on Wii. So it's still possible.
