If it doesn't, I suggest importing the game and downloading Gemini's amazing English translation patch. It has been out for a while now and is literally one of the best I've seen. One way or the other, make sure to play P2:Tsumi, best title in the series by far.

thanks i didnt know the game was patched, im defenitly going to get it, only have played persona 3 and it was by pure accident, il check out tsumi as well

That was the first and last X-Box SMT exclusive, I think it also released in Korea though never outside of Asia. Some of the online components made it to IMAGINE as they were scrapped. Pretty much a post apocalyptic setting in which survivors try to recreate man kind's structure. Tokyo was recreated in space, though shadows (or noise) were summoned by a legion who was against the movement. Battles are in real time.

Yes, though don't own an NTSC-J console anymore, at the moment at least. That was one of the only reasons I even cared to get one in the first place.

There's no real point in playing Shin Megami Tensei NINE since it was just an introduction into what was never delivered - NINE was supposed to be MMORPG but the standalone introduction, which is the game were're talking about, didn't sell well as the Xbox itself never did sell well in Japan. Atlus just scrapped the project, although Yama is right to say that the PC SMT MMORPG - Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE - is very similiar in many ways.

I didn't like the first game (PSP), at all. Got around three to four hours into it. Bored me with its anime tropes, lame battle system and the game just felt archaic. Really felt like I wasted my money on it. Is P2 the same as P1?

I know I'd hate P3 & 4, since it uses those annoying anime tropes even more and is obsessed with the high school setting. Bleh.

Basically, the game is great even after all these years, but ATLUS USA did another shoddy translation that brings the story down.

Seriously. all those people who think that ATLUS USA is great at translations should think again.

ATLUS USA often fucks things up so badly that the story takes an actual nosedive, as is the case with their translation for the PSP remake of Innocent Sin.
