3D was supposed to be a 90s gimmick that essentially did die for a period of time. Now every movie has a fwee dee versionz made of it. Virtual Reality is another gimmick that has needed technology to catch up to what it was envisiged to be. But i am a retro gamer at heart. All this wii/move/kinect/3D/virtual reality rubbish can go back to where it came from. Give me the most comfortable chair, some drinks n snacks and a contoller in my hand to do my bidding.

You know it is kind of hilarious, we've had both 3D and virtual reality in the past and they didn't catch on, chalk it up to the fact that the tech wasn't there, but now, I think we're getting there. I'm actually kind of excited to see VR in the future, even if it is yet again, only a fad. It's not like I think such tech will get in the way of usual gaming with controllers, but the possibilities with VR is kind of exciting to me, sorry. :dunno:

I always wanted a VR Shenmue, but when i sat and thought about it in relation to the tech, it turns out i just wanted to be in the game.

You dont know that, because you havent played it. Thats a pretty generally speaking response. Obviously, they are going to make games that specifically cater to this thing, and I am thinking first person games are going to flourish on it.

I am also with pete on this, if I cant wear this thing and sit down and have a controller in my hand, which a controller seems like it will be manditory unless there is somekind of touch or dare I say even thought manipulation, I am gonna get tired and sick of it quickly. But that being said I am super curious about it, it could be fucking BOMB, then again it could be horrible. I hope sony hits the nail on the head though.

It begins:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012- ... conference

Sony conference is on in around eight hours (5AM here in the UK). Predictions?

Also Monolith Soft are telling fans to anticipate TGS:

Monolithsoft Twitter wrote:I’ve updated the page of the “Welcome to Monolith Soft” [HP] soft monolith. September 20 (Thursday) held “Tokyo Game Show 2012.” We will report Riki is enthusiastic this year. Do not miss it!

Baten Kaitos 3DS? Xenoblade 2? Disaster: Day of Crisis 2? (heh). New IP, hopefully. We'll see, I guess.

Both Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos 2 were announced at TGS.

I'd shit bricks if Baten Kaitos 3, seriously under rated game.

And I have a strong feeling it is, and hopefully an announcement of something else, hopefully for Wii-U or 3DS.

that doesnt mean they arent working on Baten Kaitos 3 in addition to the new IP, or making it on 3DS. The resemblance of that artwork is uncanny to BK, ask segata. Who knows what all monolith is working on right now, we should know soon, anyway im giddy to find out :)

^It's also the "demon ninja" game that Spark Unlimited are working on! Very mixed bag. Like it on the aesthetics side, though. Personally, I think Soul Sacrifice is Inafune's better looking game (still the best upcoming Vita release, for me).
