Only seen about three trailers but this has to be my most anticipated game. Love the setting and Naughty Dog have more than proven themselves with the Uncharted series.

I have mixed feeling on it right now. I really enjoyed the Uncharted series but i don't really want another scripted 8 hour set piece game.

I feel you wrc, but at the same time if theirs scripting to be done in a game, aslong as its done right then it can very much improve the overall experience. It just depends on how well its done and naughty dog has always done it well imo.

File it in the rumor column for now, but The Last of Us might be delayed. Best Buy has changed the game's release date from May 7th to June 18th. GameStop and Amazon still list the post-apocalyptic, third-person action game for May.

A message to Sony for comment was not immediately returned.

Hope this is bullshit but if it makes the game better I will wait impatiently.

Have to say i found last weeks gameplay vid very dull and it looks to have had a big graphics down grade with many poor looking textures. Not a day 1 for me and shall wait for user views.

Sony has responded to IGN and confirmed that The Last of Us is delayed. Originally set to come out on May 7th, the game is now set for June 14th. Yes, that's a Friday. Naughty Dog has released the following statement:

As a team we pride ourselves on setting a very high quality bar for every aspect of our games – gameplay, story, art, design, technology and more. We want to make sure The Last of Us raises that bar even further – for ourselves, and most importantly, our fans.

As we entered the final phase of development for The Last of Us, we came to realize just how massive Joel and Ellie’s journey is. But instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog’s internal high standards.

Naughty Dog has a huge reputation and clearly doesn't want to tarnish it, so it doesn't surprise me they want to spend some more time polishing this product.

I'm not all that excited about it but I will try it out once it's released.

That seems a bit late. It almost sounds like they were working month after month thinking that Joel and Ellie would take a trip to the next town. Until someone discovered that it's actually a massive journey

In any case I'm keeping my expectations low. I've seen gameplay but that doesn't always tell much for me. One important aspect for me is how gameplay complements the story.
