I am hopeful for GTA5, its not like I hate the series all together, I just havent enjoyed it since it was on the PS2. but even then it needed something extra going into the next gen era to keep it relevent and that didnt really materialize as is it could have in GTA4. Hopefully this game can gain back the proper footing, and hopefully rockstar learned from their mistakes the last time around. San Andreas > GTA 4.

Jayceon Terrell Taylor, better known as rapper The Game, has revealed he recently did "a little bit of work" with Rockstar on Grand Theft Auto V, seemingly confirming that he has reprised his role as GTA: San Andreas character Mark 'B Dup' Wayne.

The long wait is over at last. With the December issue, Grand Theft Auto V fans can pore over every detail we could get about Rockstar Games' highly anticipated sequel. Over the course of 18 pages (our biggest cover story yet!), we introduce the three main protagonists, discuss the groundbreaking way you use them, and explore the reimagined Los Santos – the biggest open world Rockstar has created to date. The massive feature also divulges and dissects many more aspects of the game fans won't want to miss.

Game Informer scans here

Los Santos is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and GTAIV combined

Bah, I don't know about you, but I couldn't care less about how enormous the world is.. I would much rather have a small and detailed world, with lots to do, but oh well

it looks like the bigger the better

Judging from the amount of detail in GTA4 I would hope that continues into GTA5 even with the larger size. But also a lot of that should be countryside, I thought. (I haven't read the magazine article yet since I'm at work.) Countryside wouldn't need to be as detailed as more city streets and buildings.

So less detail more building that are just scenery and 4 variations of a NPC. More simple textures and 14 discs for 360.

This.

One of my favourite things to do is drive across from Los Santos to San Fierro. I did it once in a small tractor, going at snails pace, listening to K-Rose and absorbing the scenery and cars casually driving past me. I love that so much. Especially round the back of Mt. Chiliad. It was an excellent way of reflecting on the story up until that point, and also created a proper sense of excitement and achievement hen you get to your destination. RDR also did this for me, but to a lesser extent due to the limited modes of transport and more barren scenery. But countryside definitely gets my vote!

People need to remember large open world does not mean large disc. Skyrim is something like 2GB

Three Protagonists: Trevor (redneck), Michael (older white guy), and Franklin (black/mixed guy).
Each character has his own personality, motivation, and skillset.
Vehicles: cars and trucks, bikes (BMX, mountain), dirtbikes, ATVs, helicopters, planes, and jet skis.
Los Santos in GTA V is bigger than the worlds of RDR, San Andreas, and GTA IV combined.
Heists will be predominantly featured in GTA V. (Heat, anyone?)
Customise your look but not San Andreas style RPG elements.
Side-missions that Rockstar mentioned include: yoga, triathlons, tennis, and golf.
Random NPC encounters are back and more developed.
The ocean floor is detailed and can be explored.

Rockstar promises:

More fleshed out missions ala "Three Leaf Clover".
More complex side missions and activities similar to Red Dead. "It's better to have one really good mini game than five half-assed ones that aren't fun".
Better driving controls
Improved shooting mechanics
Refined melee combat
Vibrant in-game economy (but no buying property)

I wouldn't say any GTA game is anywhere near my top 10 but they are always a blast to play and the hype leading up to release is fun. This looks pretty cool and from what I've read having three characters at once sounds cool.
