They shutted the amazing Streets of Rage Remix from Bombergames because the fan game was infinite better than the copy paste port they did for mobile.

The most funny part was they were ok about the launch of this game when Bombergames contacted them taling about their project. I supose it was because they thought the fan game couldn't beat the official one but the result was pretty different for them.

The result: Sega says "shut down this" when the game is already finished.

That's the actual SEGA.

Okay, just a little nervous about this now...
I mean, technically, there's no way to defend against it. If Sega can sway Youtube to remove peoples' videos, then Youtube has every right to do that. It's just a really, really shitty thing to do.
I usually work for weeks or even months on my videos. It'd be just about the biggest slap in the fucking face ever if they decided to erase my Yakuza 4 video (as amateur as it may be) just so people don't stumble across that instead of their vids for Yakuza 5.

Sega must have some reason they want this down, but I think leaving the vids up help promote the games.

YouTube has been removing a lot of stuff lately. I sure hope they dont start removing the "Let's Play" vids for other games.

Sega is not deleting videos of their new game Shining Ark but of videos for the old shining games Shining Force 3 and, probably more importantly, Shining The Holy Ark. Due to the similar names, you get more results for their old games than you get for the new game when searching on YouTube. This is something they want to stop, since they apparently regard YouTube as an important part of their marketing, but don't care for neither the old Shining games nor the fanbase of these games -- to the point that they would rather destroy the work of these passionate hardcore fans.

What a big, fat LOL.

Uuuhhm, why not stick ads for your new game in the vids that feature the older games? Or have Youtube improve the search function? Or better yet, add the new game in the quick search for when you're barely typing in a new title? Sometimes I find new stuff in the middle of typing something.

I'm probably being real simplistic, but there's got to be less drastic matters to resort to.

For the record that is one thing SEGA has not improved since leaving the console market is it's awful marketing. This is worse than Sony ever did with the PSP/PS3 ads

Sega could drag themselves right back into the multi million gaming market so easily with the content they create but instead what do they do, continue digging their own grave. I refuse to believe their doing this intentionally, someone's gotta be bribing them or something.

Fast forward in a year; Sega takes loss. Lays off some staff.

Blames economy.
