Freakin' BOOM.

Image

Just won an auction for that. Twenty dollars.
Now, take into account that the only other listing for the original Tenchu soundtrack at the moment is set at 180 bucks, and looking at the merchant listings for used copies on Japanese Amazon, the lowest price is around 8500 yen (roughly 80 bucks), and I'd say I just got a friggin' steal.
Was watching the auction all week, and no one touched it. VERY happy, as this is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time, and I never thought I'd actually get my hands on it.

Constantly reminding me how similar our taste can be. Very nice.

Not many games are better than Metal Slug.

Finally went and ordered The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers, so very happy to start reading that. Also went to Bookmans today, brought in some old junk/books from the garage and asked for store credit. Made out with Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Clockwork Knight 2, Dragon Warrior Monsters, and a Rilo Kiley CD.

I've been really really craving Resident Evil recently and have been thinking about binging on the series. Cool thing about the gamecube is that you can play every single one of the core Resident Evil games (except for the original version of 1) from the first game to 4 on just the gamecube alone -- plus they're the definite versions as far as I know.

Also, quite into Clockwork Knight and never played the second one.

Dragon Warrior Monsters is a childhood game of mine and it was in perfect condition for $20 -- i'm pretty sure it's worth more than that... but nostalgia will likely make me keep it... at least for a while.

Rilo Kiley isn't game related, but the band was recommended to me because I like Elliott Smith, and I figured it was worth a listen.

Haven't bought games is a long while, but these were practically free, thanks to the wonderfully mysterious money-giving garage.

Bought this little guy, even though I don't have the new Smash Bros. and my interest in Sonic is minimal right now.
But it's a nice addition to my collection and since it doesn't cost much, yeah.

im still trying to figure out what exactly the amiibos are for, arent they kinda like memory cards or something? I know they save some kind of data from your games, and not many games support them. They are a curious feature.

I don't know why I took so long to get this.. Bought the soundtrack as well! Oh and actually been going back and forth on twitter with Swery. He appreciates his fans all over he's said haha how cliche, but he's a nice guy, I would love to catch him for coffee and ask for details of his upcoming projects.

Depends on the game you use them on.

Smash Bros they create an NPC like the figurine that learns how you fight and mimics you. Over time it levels up and get's stronger. Like a fighting Tamagotchi.
Mario Kart they just unlock costumes for the Mii racers.
Hyrule Warriors they give you special items.

A few more games use them.

^The shooting is horrible and the fighting even more so but for some reason I am still really enjoying it. Not sure if it's because of how it's designed or because of the cyberpunk theme.
