I'm in that camp too, if you didn't like the first three hours you didn't miss a whole lot.

Other than an ending reaffirming my dislike for Joel who was already a dislikable character after the prologue. I love anti-heroes but only when they're likable.

I would say this is judging it. You wasn't saying it's not a game for you but that it doesn't deserve the praise it gets. I just find it a very strange statement to make since you haven't played it.

The HD version of Another World is amazing. I still want to get the complete set one of these days by getting Heart of the Alien for the Sega CD, but this was only 2.99 on gog, so it seemed worth it anyway. This is exactly what I want to see when it comes to HD versions of old 16-bit games. The graphics are exactly the same, except devoid of aliasing, and with some extra details on wall textures and stuff like that. It's beautiful. They should have done this exact same thing with Flashback, instead of making that 2.5D remake a year or two ago. And I'd love to see this happen with a larger variety of older games. It's a totally loving tribute, rather than a reinvention.

The thing is despite being from the same company they were made by different people. Even though Flashback is a great game, everything made by Paul Cuisset before and afterwards fell very flat, from Flashback's PSX sequel Fade to Black, to the horribly broken Amy. Even though the Flashback remake was made by him, you just get the impression, especially when compared to the fabulous Another World update, that he just doesn't get what made Flashback special at all, because it just isn't there any more.
I've heard good things on the new version of Oddworld, though, and I'd like to try it someday.

Does the GOG version include the extras from the physical release (soundtrack, documentaries)? Feel free to check my old review back from 2010: http://koekulturekorner.blogspot.pt/201 ... ation.html

I just realized it, but Land Stalker must be a prequel or earlier entry in the series that Time Stalkers for Dreamcast was a part of. Similar looking art work and everything. Did not know there were other games.
