Although technically I didn't buy it, I convinced my brother to buy Shadow Complex so we could play through it. So far it's the only reason I'd ever want to own a 360 -- the game is great.

After fighting with deep pocketed ebayers for the last week I have finally secured myself a Japanese model PS2! I feel so triumphant. Import gaming glory awaits!

Now to play the excruciating waiting game while it ships from the motherland.

There's a new CEX (used game/DVD store) in my town, and I had to drag myself out of there the other day after buying six PS3 games for £29:

Far Cry 2
Red Dead Redemption
Dynasty Warriors 6
Ghostbusters
LA Noire
Saints Row: The Third

RDR, LA Noire, and possibly Ghostbusters were the only ones I definitely intended to play sometime, but at those prices I was happy to take some risks on games I might not enjoy. I like the sound of FC2's sandbox gameplay but I'm not often keen on first-person shooters. The Dynasty Warriors series gets a bad rap for its repetitive nature but sometimes all I want is a dumb button masher. And the first two Saints Row games got about half an hour's play before I lost interest but there's always the potential for fun in an open world city so I'll keep giving them a try when they're cheap.

I had been eying an unopened copy of this on ebay for a long time, and just now figured I really ought to grab it up before it disappears. The price was excellent; less than half of what other new copies of the game go for.

So that'll complete my Gungriffon collection. Very import-friendly, too. Apparently plays just like the first game, and the missions are all very straightforward "destroy all" affairs, so a lack of Japanese reading ability will pose no problem at all.

Nice, I just found the first one not too long ago. Really good game. I may have to give the second a look.

Loaded up with a few other Saturn shooter/mech games. Tunnel B1 is underwhelming. MechWarrior is amazing. One of the best mech games i've ever played. Haven't tried Ghen War yet.

Just got my original Xbox component cable in the mail, so I could capture Xbox games with better quality. Tried a few games so far, and they all look alright, but Crimson Sea in particular looked downright beautiful. The in-game picture quality is so damn crisp.
It's probably a totally shallow feeling, but it's making me feel like making a Crimson Sea video. Was always planning that anyway.

Also got these off of gog.com (super damn cheap):
System Shock 2
Messiah
Thief 2

Probably grab some more off of there before long.

^Ah, Messiah, the memories. I remember the hype around it and how frustrated I got after it revealed itself to run at like 5 frames per second n my pc, back in the day.

I honestly don't understand how Messiah (and the likes of, say, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines and Omikron) aren't brought back more often in gaming discussions throughout the internet (and regardless of their shortcomings).
