My 2009 Toshiba did a great job with 240/288p signals and had RGB Scart so I never felt the need for one of these.
Since I got my OLED about a year ago that all changed and I simply needed one.
I don't like like converters but this thing is a whole different beast and made for games. The scaling and picture quality is truly incredible. With it's filters and picture adjustments even NES composit looks clean and very nice. Not to mention it does it all with minimal processing time. The price is steep but it's absolutely worth it!

Bluemue, what brand is it and where can I get it?

I will probably need one in the near future...

You can get one on this online store.

Wow, the price... that is insane.

I may have to hold back and pray that my Television stays robust.

Or try to track down a Pvm, things can be expensive on ebay but find one locally and it won't hurt your wallet too much.

Picture quality is amazing, best purchase I did this year.

Just picked this up:

I'm a big fan of the .hack anime but never got a chance to play the G.U trilogy back in the day. Looking forward to this HD remaster and the new fourth game included as part of Last Recode.

Plus, Sonic Forces on Tuesday. Going to be busy for a while with all these game coming out.

Hate myself for buying this...
I didn't want to preorder, I didn't really want this version, I wanted to wait until I can get the regular one below the normal retail price. But then impatience set in and I had to go with one of these for an inflated price as there was no chance to get any X on release day anymore. I blame it on Sonic Forces, wich I got a day before it's release and I didn't want to start it on the "old" One S without the X Enhanced stuff and everything.

I love my ps4, but an xbox one x is really tempting now that my birthday is around the corner.

My man! I recently found out about this thing earlier this year and really wanted one ever since, but I was never able to justify getting it since I don't play old-school games that much. The only retro console I have hooked up is sega genesis and I only have an RF adapter for it. My dreamcast and n64 is connected to an old CRT that my parents got me when I was 14 and it turned out to be amazing for gaming consoles of that era.

For anyone who don't know wtf this thing is, or why it is so amazing, go ahead and watch this video:

Got it a day before it officially goes on sale here. Already the third X Enhanced game in 4 days of owning the system.
Can't wait to dive into it (again)!

Spiritual successor to what is, in all likelihood (hard to be concrete about this stuff), my overall favorite game of the 16-bit era?
Fuck yes I'm preordering that.

Feels like it's been in development for freaking forever, and even September feels far off. But at least it's actually in sight now.

This is how you do a sequel, so much fun. Massive leap forward in content and polish from the first game.
