Sorry for spamming the topic, but this always deserves a post.

It's never spamming long as it's good music. :nice!:

Just bought this soundtrack. In my eyes, easily Hitoshi Sakimoto's catchiest, most-accessible work.
But is that just me? Is it just that I'm used to this soundtrack already and have nostalgia for it? I love his other work, but none of it has ever struck me as being quite as catchy as the stuff in FFTactics. I'm not sure if it's just nostalgia, but it's good stuff nonetheless. Makes me want to play the game every time I hear any of it.

Picks up at 0:50, and is pretty damn good from there on. The MSX version is 17 minutes long, which is insane for a synthesized track. Unfortunately, it's not as good in my opinion.

^^Is it just me, or does it almost have a slight Tetris-y vibe once it picks up?

Been listening to lots of videogame music lately, and came across this nice little nugget o' goodness. I expected that Lightning Returns would have almost nothing but super-modern-sounding battle themes (and there is a lot of that, granted), but this honestly sounds a lot like something we could have gotten in a much earlier JRPG. I could easily imagine this as a 16-bit chiptune or something from the PS1-era. Almost Chrono Cross-esque.

Immediately upon loading up Cyber Sleuth there was no doubt who did the music, Masafumi Takada! I've only played about 4 hours now but the music has been top notch. Can't wait to hear the rest of it.

Probably the two best soundtracks in the whole Guild shebang on 3DS.

Actually just ordered the Crimson Shroud CD. Was surprised to find that the soundtrack actually got a physical release, so I ordered that right away. Still haven't finished the game, but I'm feeling pretty jazzed about it now, listening to its soundtrack a bit.
Too bad the Friday Monsters soundtrack wasn't released on disc (it's only available digitally). Such a feel-good game, such a feel-good sound. Would have loved to have that.

1996. 20 years ago Square released a fighting game on PSX.

The OST had the likes of Yasunori Mitsuda, Yoko Shimomura, Masashi Hamauzu, Noriko Matsueda, Ryuji Sasai, Kenji Ito and Junya Nakano all doing experimental electronic music creating magic with their synths.

This track in particular from Junya Nakano has stuck with me over the years, it's funny since I've never played the game or heard from anyone who has (online or IRL), it's such a forgotten game from Square's PSX catalogue. Like, totally, completely forgotten.

So haunting. Definitely the best track.

I know the Gravelord Nito version is just the normal one pitched down and maybe some effects, but I like to play them together to get that harmony.

Jesus Christ.
I had my eye on this game for a while just because of the interesting art design, but I had no idea it would also sound this good. Really, really digging this game so far, and the music is a huge part of it. Some of the best original vocal tracks I've heard in a videogame in a long while, and the overall groove of it is unlike just about any other videogame OST I can think of, all smooth and chill and sexy.
Seriously, give it a listen if you've never checked it out before.

Seems the developer, Supergiant, tends to have a knack for aesthetics in general. Their previous game before Transistor was Bastion (which I only just started playing, but it is indeed lovely so far) and their next game, Pyre, looks to continue that great sense for visuals and sound.
Problem is, it's all digital-only so far. Here's hoping one day they put out a Supergiant compilation or something, throw Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre on there all together. Maybe include a soundtrack. I'd buy that immediately.
