from Real Sound: Kaze no Regret, a game made specifically for the blind by Kenji Eno (D, Enemy Zero, D2)

Composed by Keiichi Suzuki, who has written songs for both Mother and Mother 2 (among other things).

^^The theme from the original game was better. The guitars and drums in the one you posted just make it sound kinda dumb. Really unfitting. And this is coming from a guy who usually goes nuts over metal tracks on videogame OST's.

Speaking of metal.

I'm feeling rather nostalgic towards Shenmue recently, particularly Shenmue II, and this track has always been one of my favorites. Guilin as a whole really.

Speaking of Hitoshi Sakimoto, he went co-op with his buddy Yasunori Mitsuda on Legaia 2: Duel Saga (PS2) along with the ICO composer, Michiru Oshima. Mitsuda and Sakimoto made some really great tunes on that game's soundtrack (never played the game itself), my personal favourite was this one from Sakimoto:

It's like Sakimoto doing a Chrono Cross style composition and it's really wonderful. If you're a fan of both Hitoshi Sakimoto and Yasunori Mitsuda, check this album, definitely.

^^If you hadn't said otherwise, I actually might have thought that really was from the Chrono Cross soundtrack. Good stuff.

Anyway, drowning in nostalgia over these games right now.
Outlaws was probably the first FPS I ever really got into (I'd played Doom and whatnot, but was never a big fan as a kid), and it's still got more soul to it than most I've played since. Big part of that is the excellent music, of course. Obviously Ennio Morricone-inspired, but original enough that it doesn't sound like a straight ripoff.
And The Dig was one of Lucasarts' last great adventure games. I think I was really big into Full Throttle first, and I'd asked for the soundtrack for Christmas. Well, my parents mistakenly got me The Dig soundtrack instead, but it turned out to be a happy accident since the music is so good. Made me get more into the game itself. I remember listening to this on a walkman every night just before falling asleep.
Good times with both of these. :D

Hey, does anyone know any good OSTs with good guitar shred and maybe some electronic sounding stuff thrown in? Besides Guilty Gear?

Thanks in advance!

Nah. We hate that stuff.
It's all about hardcore bossa nova 'round these parts.

In all seriousness, aside from the obvious answer of anything Daisuke Ishiwatari (Guilty Gear, Hard Corps Uprising, BlazBlue), I'd actually point toward Koei's music team, on games like Dynasty Warriors or Fist of the North Star. If you want shredding, this is the shit.

phpBB [video]

And that's just one totally random pick. Choose just about any DW game and you'll find a soundtrack full of excellent shredding.
I'd also recommend the ost to Urban Reign.

Funny, I was listening to some Jamiroquai for the first time in forever recently, and one song has this series of notes that kept sounding so familiar to me. I knew I'd heard it (or something similar) elsewhere, but it's one of those things where it's been eating at me trying to figure it out for the past week.
Finally figured it out.
Here's the Jamiroquai song (there are a few variations first, but the first real instance of the notes show up about :48 seconds):

And turns out this was the tune I was thinking of:

Not saying ZOE ripped anything off at all (absolutely love that track, and it's just a few notes/a certain manner of playing them anyway), I just find it funny that anything resembling a Jamiroquai song can actually be found on the ZOE soundtrack.

Jeez, man! that's the second time I have seen you mention Jamiroquai in the space of a few days!
You have made me start listening to their older songs again, their first 3 albums are such quality...
Especially Return of the Space Cowboy...

Anyway, back on topic;
The Turrican series has always been known for it's excellent music and Mega Turrican is no exception. With an excellent rendition of a classic Turrican tune.

Some people enjoy the SNES version of this tune more:
