When Yoji Shinkawa designed Snake, he looked at the existing character from the MSX games and went from there. Also, he based the character’s face on Christopher Walken, and his body on Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Meryl is able to sneak up on Snake after he tries to find her in the women’s restroom. According to Kojima, she was hidng under the sink basin.

Always did wonder where Meryl was actually hiding. Now I know.

Psycho Mantis decides to help Snake with his last breath. The same way his mother died for him while giving birth. That’s the feeling he remembers at the end of his life.

Now I understand the line change in Twin Snakes (GC) about nostalgia...

Still chasing the high that this game gave me all those years ago. One of my absolute favourite games, ever.

Same here. I even bought the VR Missions/MGS1 double pack that they released. I remember being so excited to play as the Cyborg Ninja! I lived and breathed Metal Gear & Kojima Productions games in my teens. Every time they released the new editions of their games, I'd be there, day one, like a little fan boy.

It's a pretty smart move by nintendo to release it the same day pokemone x and y come out.

IMO he should get XL. I know NOE made the jerk decision to not include the AC Adapter but that aside the bigger screen is about the size of the Vita screen and makes games that much better esp older DS games. Maybe just me but the smaller screen is too small. Sure it's not the easiest to pocket but easier than the Washboard size phones people have today and surely easier than that thing plus the screen is protected by the clamshell. Just my 2 cents.

Knowing him he'd just go for the cheapest option. It's just something to play over Christmas break, so nothing you said, even though they sound like good points, would really be considered.

Gone Home and Evoland. Gone Gome has a lot of Super Nintendo and Street Fighter II stuff.

Evoland has a lot of references and homages to many games of the past but these are just a couple I managed to screencap.
