2 years of differnce, unreal engine 3 vs unity 5.

Unity looks pretty much worse, and with loading screens (incredibly enough, there isn't that usual Unity garbage collector jittery, and kinda runs smoother).

I can't really grasp why, but BTS just looks more plain, there's more chromatic aberration in the original, and the bloom is quite a lot better. Shadows seem to be higher precision on unity though.

It went from Life is Strange to Life is Sims from the looks of it.

I'd totally play the hell out of a Frasier one.

I'd definitely point n click on Daphne.

Didn't know they were working on a new tex murphy game.

The latest one (tesla effect, backed on KS) was suuuuch a throwback, and quite an amazing game, sadly all these new reviewers and press that don't know shit threw it under the bus.

EDIT: hm is a remake of overseer. It was a great game though.

"If we had a live service on that, and we could keep people engaged, give them even more to play them, we would also be able to try and monetize them over time. That's a huge opportunity, to continue to build the live-service piece of our business."
-Blake Jorgensen, EA's CFO

Basically a preview of Anthem's gameplay. Welcome to the new era of gaming ladies and gents!

Well, for a lot of AAA Western video games anyway (mainly from EA and Activision).

Don't think this will effect Japanese games (AKA the mid-tier lot) or the indie scene.

I'm enjoying before the storm quite a bit more than the original, even if the art direction isn't as strong.

FFXV pc (and royal edition) will have +20 dlc and an expanded royar crown city.

Fuck yeah, my dick is diamonds (too bad it'll still be the same censored mess storywise).

I'd buy a ffxiii versus with the same assets as ffxv.

Unfortunately it's already happening. Konami is on board with the business model through Metal Gear Survive, and Arc System Works will have its latest Blazblue game having half of its entire roster of characters locked through a paywall system before launch. Also there are already indie games with microtransactions in place for a while (check out a game called Depth).

Just saw this video from the British Museum:

Explore a beautiful Chinese scroll through this immersive video! The painting depicts the forest near Mount Baiyue (now Mount Qiyun) in eastern China, and was made in 1623 by Xiang Shengmo

I would so love an Okami 2* set in an ancient, mythical China, using this kind of art style.

*I would also so love an Okami 2. Period.

I just found out about the Fatal Frame movie. Has anyone here seen it? Is worth watching?

From what I remember it was actually not bad. It's a coming of age lesbian drama with a horror mystery theme to it. The movie is way too slow for my liking and the acting lackluster, but I did like the rite of passage theme and the ending which I think it was the best one from all the movies based on a videogame. Though I have never really played a Fatal Frame game, I believe it's only loosely based on the franchise and so, said that I'd rather recommend better movies like The Wailing or A Tale of Two Sisters than this one for a similar Asian eerie horror type of experience.

In that case I'll probably pass. A lesbian movie is pretty rare for Japan though so props for that I guess.

This is a pretty fun game. Really makes you feel like a nice man.

I think I'll buy the expansion.
