I have relaxed on the gif posts last few months but we can sum it up with a few of them.

Image

The countdown has begun we await the annoucement

Image

Conference starts and shows all the shit we can do with it..except play games....

Image

They finally show something about games. They bombed

Image

It's all sequels to EA games and CoD

Image

The internet disapproves of boring conference

Image

We get the news about always online, pay to play used games and Kinect required

Image

I overreact

Image

Manny needs fresh air

Image

MS in 2 years won't understand why they crashed and burned.

Peace out. I'm out

Again, at no point when I was talking to MS did they say there was a fee for used games. They said used games were important and supported.

Supported with a fee.

Mine is a more recent article. Seems Wired have made it up or got their info wrong.

Tree it doesn't require a connection to play games.

 They spent so much time on it and yet,

Xbox One: live TV available in US only at launch, requires separate device

So thats actually a good thing for those that don't want it because its optional but still the amount they focused on it.

Looks like the market wasn't too impressed:

Sony's chart, on the other hand is interesting, particularly at the 1pm time:

We have nearly every major news source from Gamespot to Kotaku going on what Wired's confermation from MS the a fee is required to do the manditory required install of all games. That all games are locked down to accounts and that MS can track this exchange in user.
So we'll have to go on that for now. Because all MS has otherwise said is that they "support" used games. Which means it can still "support" us with a fee.

It also means that we won't be able to sell off our used games we don't want, since almost nobody will want to pay a fee and a game...

And that in ten years time, the games won't work anymore since the servers will die, rendering the games essentially defunct, so if you had anything in your backlog, you won't be able to play 'em.

Why would the games suddenly not work if they are saved to the hard drive? The HD wont be wiped by MS/Sony when new consoles come.

And this is the part where the internet backtracks on all their criticisms towards modders, hackers, pirates and ask them to save the day. Which they will. And then they'll try coming up with a new way of stopping them. And then they'll fail.

What are you going to do in a few years when the activation servers go offline? Or when they crash and the authentication fails? Hmm? You bought a coaster.

@WRC: Yes, but if you buy the games AFTER the server is closed (after the lifespan of the Xbox One is over; when they stop all support), you cannot "activate" the game to make it work. Or you leave the game in your backlog and never "activate" it? You're buggered.
