lol. Peace Walker story was definitely worse than this game's, at least. The characters were so forgettable and the bosses sucked. At least if nothing else, Miller, Quiet, Huey, Paz and Eli have interesting arcs, even if Eli's was incomplete because of the omission of Mission 51. Huey in PW was far too much like Otacon, at least in this game they do enough to differentiate him from his son.

Ocelot is such a wasted character in this game.

Absolutely amazing fan-made trailer for the game -- do not watch if you haven't finished the game, since it contains massive spoilers.

Liquid Snake?

Don't confirm it if it ever actually gets revealed later, I'm just throwing it out there. Seems like it'd line up. Maybe too obvious though, so I dunno.

My first thought was actually Raiden but I'm not sure if the timeline would match up.

Y'know, I'm tired of having to apologize for the things guys like. I love tits and asses and bare skin and bounciness even when it's exaggerated because of awkward videogame physics. Quiet is exploitative, sure, but I've seen far worse instances of it. She's not the "embodiment" of exploitation, because there are far grosser examples elsewhere.
Yeah, she's basically designed that way to give you a throbbin in your knobbin (that would be the real-world reason), but it's also not so extreme that I can't accept her as a legitimate part of the MGS canon. The reasons given for her design being that way are no more ridiculous than anything else in the series. People just jump on this because it's "sexual" in some capacity. It would be something else entirely if there were any actual sex being had with her, but it's just exposed skin, so I haven't had a problem with it at all so far.
Besides, we've had worse examples of sexualized snipers in earlier MGS games. At least Quiet's attire makes some sort of climate-based sense; Afghanistan and Zaire are hot as hell, and since she presumably can't get a sunburn (working on
photosynthesis
and all), staying uncovered actually makes some sense. Exposed cleavage in snowy Alaska though? No one whines about that, even though I'd personally call that a much better example of legitimate exploitation; it's there solely for titillation, with no other reason given.

Anyway, just finished "Chapter 1" (I'd forgotten this was even Chapter-based  ). Excellent boss battle at the end of it. Not hard, but hella fun. When the credits started rolling, I did feel a bit of disappointment, but that was before I realized there was a whole other chapter to go through. Still got a ways to go, I guess.

I don't get what's the issue honestly. MGS is a video game embodiment of an action B Movie so big tits and big guns are to be expected.

Anyone who complains about it seriously needs to reevaluate their priorities in life.

Just gotta love the boob bouncing physics in this video. That's exactly what MGS needed. :lmfao:

And the excuse Kojima gave for the "sniper" being half-naked (more like 90% naked) all the time is so fucking laughable! Breathing through her skin? :rotflmao: Kojima could have at least said, he made the character for 15 year-olds to get a hard-on while playing the game.

Well, guess this could be Kojima's last AAA game, so I still wish it the best.

Well it's not just breathing.
She operates on photosynthesis, so she essentially breathes, eats, and drinks through her skin. The idea is that being a sniper, this ability would allow her to remain still in a single spot for ridiculous amounts of time, unlike normal snipers who have to move to eat, drink, and so on. She's more efficient because she feeds on the nutrients in the air and atmosphere around her.

The guy in the video didn't seem to understand it fully (or he just didn't pay close enough attention).

Yeah, I understand there are reasons for her being half naked but honestly they feel like justifications after the fact. Kojima could have just as easily made up reasons for why she needed to be wearing 8 layers of clothes. Honestly, I don't care that she wears a bikini and tights, that's not my issue with it (although it is a little bit lazy and I don't find her design that appealing), but it's mostly the way she's constantly shoving her ass in your face.

OL, you talk about not having to apologize for what guys like, but is that really what we like? I don't like girls (my friends) to be doing blatantly sexual/slutty things all the time, leave that shit in porn -- I have a different mindset for girls with whom I actually like. And I think the game wants me to respect Quiet as more than just porn, she's likely the player's main partner for most of the game, so why did they just treat her like someone I'm supposed to jack off too? I just don't like it -- there's a time and a place.

Her boobs (physics) are comical, she shoves her ass and tits your face all the time, and she does these really dumb slutty dances a lot of the time. It's a huge difference from Sniper Wolf having cleavage. Anyway, it just really took me out of the game and I thought it was lazily handled. Quiet wasn't the type of character that should have been used that way -- but I'm not trying to say sexual characters, in general, are bad.

Seriously though, they need to patch the boobs because they stretch like silly putty in a few scenes (rain scene).

/\ thats a good review. sums up some of the problems with mgsV. i personally would of preferred a non open world mgsV but it was fun.

well im done. just completed it & unlocked mission 46. the game says i put 166hours in, to be honest as some unlocks were in real time i would let the game play while i was watching tv or re-charging my controller so i probably put around 120hours in.

i was going for 100% completion up until yesterday, when i found out that completing all the side ops don't give you anything extra. #-o (as always, after i finish a game, doing the side missions seems pointless)

unfortunately i didnt know that paz was on the base, so never got to talk to her - thank god for youtube =D>

but seems there is 5 "endings". -

skull face ending.
quiets ending.
mission 46 ending
mission 51 ending - unfinished / deleted ending. (on youtube)
and the so called "hidden ending" (on youtube)

- time will see if chapter 3 is real or not.

Well I just beat the game.

Overall it had some amazing gameplay but the story was quite bad. It started to actually feel like a Metal Gear game in terms of story in Chapter 2 but it was all over the place and it felt like huge parts were missing. The big twist felt like it was there just for the sake of being there and the game probably would have benefited from it not being in there at all. It also took me awhile to realise I had beat the game as it didn't do a good job of saying I beat the main story, it just throws you back into the world after the final main story cutscene so you can do side missions.

I really wanted to like Quiet but yet again it feels like so much was cut that would have helped develop that character. She had some great moments but overall it felt like Kojima just had some cool ideas for scenes in his head and no idea how to put them into the story so shoehorned them in. I also think her design is just stupid, I'm not some prude who thinks its objectification but when 9 out of 10 times the camera zooms in on her butt or boobs I couldn't help but think it was stupid. The same way I thought it was stupid in MGS3 whenever EVA would have to undo the zip on her jacket non stop.

One of the best things about the series is the characters and I don't think there is one that I will say I loved in this game. Quiet felt like she never filled her potential, Snake is more silent then Charlie Chaplin, Ocelot (Who felt like a different character to Ocelot in the other games) and Miller have no actual personalities and are just there to tell you why you're doing what you're doing and Skullface has about 15 minutes of screen time.

Still the gameplay is absolutely amazing and even though I've been doing it for 50 hours it never a gets old infiltrating a base. I love parking up and surveying the area and choosing where I will make my enterance.

As much as I loved the game for it's gameplay I think Metal Gear benefits from being a linear story, I would sometimes go around 10 hours feeling like nothing is happening plot wise. This game really feels like Kojima wanted to make a different game and he had to fit that square peg into the Metal Gear round hole. So now that it seems whatever he does next will be 100% original I'm excited for whatever it is.

But that's just like my opinion man.
