I guess the cardboard box is back :D

Little mixed feelings though. Not sure what I think about the artillery strike he was talking about. But excluding that, Im getting more excited. Especially the base sounds awesome.

I'm actually not that opposed to the artillery strike idea. At first it seems like "it's a stealth game, of course it's a bad idea," but I imagine the strike will probably destroy everything in an area. And considering that using the Fulton recovery system is such a huge part of the game, gathering materials and personnel for your base, the strike is probably something you won't want to use unless you've already scavenged an area to completion. And after that point, why not let you play with the environment to your heart's content?
Plus, it'll likely be very limited anyway.

Phantom Pain is coming to steam. One less reason for me to buy a PS4. Assuming they actually release it on disc that is, I will buy a PS4 in order to play this from a disc. There will probably be a bad ass LE anyway, so I may end up checking that out, if an LE does comes out for PC then fuck yeah!

Do PC games even get physical releases anymore?

um yeah? Its about like the consoles honestly. unless we are talking indie, then its digital digital digital all over the place. There is alot more indie on PC. But alot of big games usually get a physical release on PC, but definitely not every game on steam, for example. That being said, some times a big title will only have a digital release on PC as well. But yeah, plenty of stuff for PC is still coming out in physical form.

Sexy. Much more attractive than all that brown desert boringness we'd seen from before.

It's like a recreation of the Plant chapter (MGS2). Even the Cyphers are back. Gets me all excited just seeing that.

I like the Souls style invasion multiplayer feature - having to rush back to your own customised version of Mother Base and protect it from other players who seem to appear whenever you have your network features on, seems like a really cool idea to me.
Looking forward to seeing them reveal Metal Gear Online 3 too. Hopefully it's better than MGO2...they haven't gone a step wrong with everything they've revealed so far with regards to MGSV and I never felt that with the past few Metal Gear games, so I am hopeful that it turns out be as good as Ground Zeroes and all of these reveals are pointing it to.

I just want that magic to return (MGS1-MGS3 is probably my favourite trilogy of games, ever)

Not watching the videos but I am continuing where I left off in MGS4.

Goddamn, I forgot how ludicrously long the cutscenes were.

I forgotten all about Phantom pain.. I like what Kojima is thinking for the base concept for this particular game in the series.

New trailer is a bit pointless since it's all dialogue and in Japanese.

Still have to say, as much as the game really does look great, I hate that Kojima has gone with this whole "one-shot, handheld" style for the cutscenes. He has such a great sense for cinematography (you can still see tiny bits of it in this, like when the camera zooms between the soldiers as the sniper chick re-materializes), but it's being mostly wasted here in favor of a bunch of shaky-cam shit. That's just disappointing.
