A "reimagining" of the original game
It's also f2p ( There will be Energy used up when you do missions, which can be replenished via microtransaction items. You can also pay to continue if you fail a mission, and so on). And tied to a Japan only account, so this means no localization. Fucking joy.

I've just noticed that around half of the game designers that I really like from Japan are moving to mobile phone games. Thank GOD that Drakengard 3 & Deception IV aren't mobile games. I just feel lucky that those mid sized games haven't moved to phone game status too.

Final Fantasy: Agito "will definitely be localised", Square Enix's Hajime Tabata told our North American friends USGamer at the Tokyo Game Show today.
Does this mean the recently released mobile game will see release in the West? Square Enix cautioned against taking localisation as confirmation Agito will appear on these shores - after all, as USgamer points out, PlayStation Portable title Final Fantasy: Type-0 was localised but never materialised here.
Tabata said 2011 title Type-0 was localised into English and other European languages but never released in the West for "logistical reasons". That's a pretty vague response I'm going to take as meaning Square Enix didn't think it would sell well enough on the flagging PSP.
Elsewhere, Tabata described Agito and Type-0 as "companion titles". And so, he hopes to bring Type-0 to the West via the PlayStation Network. A complete localisation hasn't been approved yet, though, but it's "definitely in the final stages of planning".

Oh stop it, now you are just trying to harrass me. First of all, these are 2 different situations. Square has a history of doing stupid cell phone crap, that doesnt sound good at all. Matsuno and that new title in particular sounds like what everyone has been waiting from him, with the exception of it not being on a better platform like the Vita or the 3DS. I will say that new Agito looks interesting, but as I dont have an iphone or ipad as of now, I can only be on the outside looking in. I dont know what exactly the other games they announced for phones, but I judging from square history I would say its material im not interested in. Yay Theatrhythm!
Did you catch a glimpse of that new Kingdom Hearts browser based game? Just more social media crap from square like many of their phone games.

They've tried making legit RPGs for phones too though, like the Chaos Rings series.
