No firm release date yet, but scheduled for some time during 2015. This is gonna be hard to not look into for me, although a physical/console release would have been excellent. Not sure how much of a benefit HD will be for this older game, but im still curious to check it out anyway since its such a classic. Also note in the link that Grandia II won the Battle System Royale polls at RPGamer... dat battle system doe

How can you not be a GOG fan?

Anyways, great news. I remember actually liking to grind in this game (not that you needed to) because the battle system was so fun.

It's a pretty good platform, till you have to update a game (that you pretty much didn't know you had to update and just saw it because you were buying another game).

I have actually played Grandia II on Dreamcast, PS2, and PC back in the day. All the versions were good but I think the best version was the Dreamcast version, then PC then PS2, it did not have the best PS2 port. Anyway, the consolers should know that the GOG.com HD version will have controller support so get that Xbox 360 controller out as its the closest thing to DC, and im pretty sure system requirements are low, so most everyone should be able to play. I wonder how much it will be? I think $15-30 is fair.

Many fond memories of playing Grandia 2 in vga mode on my PC's CRT monitor and Dreamcast. :)

^^ agreed, on the price point anyway. ;-)
aye, the dreamcast version just was superior.
i've not played the older xp build, because the chunk of SHIT HP intel junk won't touch it...(HP is weird. can't find drivers for some chips on the POS, no agp/pcie socket either, you probably see where that's going?!)
getting loan of a friends beast in a few weeks while he goes to germany for booze and 'gassensexen'
looking after his kit, so hopefully the timing coincides?
...
digressed:
ps2 audio is shit, and there's some differences, not much, but the quality is lackluster vs cast. (and what's fucked about that, skies of arcadia on the cast/cube, the parallels are the same. overworks should have QA'd that better before rolling it off the factory presses. :???:

And plus neither of those ports supported progressive scan like the Dreamcast. It really was ahead of its time.

I've played it on DC, but I don't think they can do much more with an "HD", pretty much everything you play on pc will be "HD". I liked the gameplay though.

I don't think I can play any game that's more than 30 hours today. Just don't care enough.
