Saw this fun little thread on another forum and decided to start one up here. The point is to post our predictions for the year, discuss, and then come back to this thread a year later and be all "I told ya so" or "I was so f'in wrong".

Here are my Predictions:

Konami continues to be crap

Capcom tries harder than Konami

Kojima gets ambitious about his next game

FF15 releases and is adored by the new school fans, and hated by veteran fans

Sega still doesnt release Phantasy Star Online 2 in the west

Sega says bugger off to the people behind the "Dreamcast 2" petition

Sega surprises us with more good game announcements and make a good attempt to right their ship

Nintendo doesnt change in the slightest

Sony continues to bounce back from last gen

Microsoft continues to realize entering the game console industry will never earn them profit

Gaming in general will re-capture old fans and gamers that threw in the towel after the PS2 generation and more games for old schoolers will be announced/localized continuing the success from 2015

More Shenmue 3

Nintendo repeats history. Unveils the NX name and it again makes no sense, memes are created and everyone makes fun of it.

The NX specs are leaked, all the nintendo fanboys cheer for whats basically the same level graphic capability as the XBO/PS4. Yet, still no 3rd party support in sight besides 1 Ubisoft gimicky looking game and 1 Sega new IP that will look cool at first but fall flat in the end.

Rockstar announces the next Red Dead game. We all loose our shit.

Resident Evil 2 REmake is shown. We all loose our shit.

Shenmue 3 gameplay at the end of the year is demoed. The gaming press destroys it for click bait while we all love it.

Ah, Axm, sounds like you've already made up your mind about Nintendo's next console already...


Here's mine:

The Last Guardian gets delayed again.

Nier 2, Dark Souls 3 and Gravity Rush 2 will be some of the best game sequels I will ever play.

Konami will make mobile phone games and mediocre football games.

Star Fox 0 for Wii U will be underrated.

Zelda will be ported to the next Nintendo console, hence the reason for the constant delays for it.

Persona 5 will get delayed.

VR will be a fad that struggles to make sales.

And finally:
I will be too busy playing so many games in 2016 that I will spend less time doing other things that I should be...

Besides whatever weird name or gimick they go with this time, im sure it'll be a fine system for first party titles again.
I quite like that Nintendo is different, but lets not get ahead of ourselves like we always do with it. Nintendo has its specific market to cater to, I dont think they will stray much from that.

Opposite here, I should be on the road from april/may until about september/october, so there will be a good few months I wont be playing. IDK whats coming out over that time frame, but im trying to get through some of the games that I bought last year. 2016 is looking to be great for me on many different levels, hopefully.

I predict the click bait will be it has too many Asians and not enough cultural diversity.

-Nintendo spawn several new Mario titles that only include Mario

-Microsoft bring new policy for Xbox One, requiring users to pay at least 1 DLC package before buying the game for digital download.

-Awesome Japan get sacked. After a Demo, Ryo's new face for Shenmue 3 disappoints.
