Posted: Thu Jul 05, 2018 2:56 pmSo the steam version of Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is actually a bit of a remastered HD version. Got it months ago, and at first it felt like just a port of the old game but with widescreen support. Nothing particularly special.
But the devs kept working with it and patching it, and as it is now... this thing is friggin beautiful.
They've totally "redrawn" many of the textures, rather than just keeping the old pixelated ones. This is the kind of work that Square Enix did with the FFXII remaster... except that this is a much smaller, much more obscure game. Really nice to see this kind of effort put into it.
I really need to go back and play through it. Never actually finished it on the original Xbox (probably got about halfway through).
