That's not truly the internet. Sure is had the web but it's like crediting Farnsworth for LCD tv's or Grahm bell for cell phones. The inevtor of the wheel for cars. we are web 2.0 and it was invented for social use. Computers were invented for information and as tools for math.

I agree. I'm just simplifying things that you enjoy for the sake of argument. Guns are designed to kill, but many are now enjoyed as leisure activities. I'm sure you don't use your computer to download child pornography, and I don't want people to assume that I'm committing random acts of violence with my firearms. Risks exist in all expressions of liberty. However, it is up to you to decide if you're okay with voting away the rights of others because you assume particular freedoms don't provide, what you perceive to be, a positive impact on society.

Ok You edited. Yeah you didn't read the first post. I'm not interested in the sword itself that I have. I'm interested in the art that crafts them that is over a thousand years old and each craftsman has a different technique passed on from generations. The culture behind the Katana is fascinating to me. The Samurai while were deadly and could be pretty damn violent and cold blooded the Katana was not a sword or weapon to them. It was their soul & honour.

I never take the thing out and pretend to slash it around like a careless fool. It's the culture and craft behind it is why I own it. But not about to buy 30 of them as it would be silly.

It's funny how I've completely responded to mue 26, who makes valid arguments. Saying "the second amendment is just something from the 1700's to protect us from England" is an opinion that could easily be refuted by numerous quotes from the Founding Fathers. "People don't need 30-40-100+ guns" is another overreaching opinion that could be endlessly debated. Why can't I have that many? Are those the only points I avoided? I'm not sure if you're a bad debater, trolling, or too tired to debate your thoughts.

I own a pretty expensive Musashi katana. I appreciate the craftsmanship involved in it's creation. It has a differentially hardened carbon steel blade, full tang, and rayskin wrap. But, you're assuming guns lack culture. Who are you to assume that any item is void of value and culture?

Sword is still as much a weapon as a gun. You can make a similar point that guns were made to fight against people who fought to rule over them, thus protecting your people's saftey from tyranny. Holds as much water.

But knives are less dangerous than guns simply cause you have to be real close to a person to use one. Unless people learn how to throw knives effectively. Don't think a gun ban will work effectively in the US though, that just gives a chance for the black market to make a killing on the sales of more weapons while the law abiding citizens get fucked over.

I'm happy and rather not be taken out of that on my b day and this topic is depressing me,Not been depressed since April when I tried killing myself and was sent to the hospital. Locking my own topic for my own state of mind as I rather stay in a great mood and not get carried away. I don't have enough restraint to stay away from it.
So no cheap last argument. Just I need it closed as a precaution I don't let myself get upset about an issue I have strong feelings for. Everyone is entitled it's just that ASD won't let me stop.
