Never thought I'd see to the day when being told I look young would feel like such a compliment, but it is a nice little feeling.

In Japan when I was 20 people thought I was 30. And now that im 30 people think im near 40.
When I go back to California im 10 years younger and get called kid.
Conclusion: I can tell anybody im any age between 25-35 and it will probably pass.

So I was thinking on it, and it occurred to me that after the next Captain America movie comes out... I might have no further interest in the Marvel movie universe.
Captain America is easily my favorite part of the universe they've put together, and Chris Evans' contract is up after this next one comes out. So naturally, since the movie is called Civil War, I'm assuming they're going to do what happened in the Civil War comics story and kill off Captain America. It's just an assumption, but it makes sense (especially since they introduced and played up the Winter Soldier with the last movie, and in the comics he eventually became the new CA).
So if Cap gets killed off, what major interest am I going to have in these movies? Their Hulk is only mildly appealing at best, I have a bit of a dislike for all things Thor, I still think Scarlet Johansson is generally uninteresting as Black Widow (if they ever give her a movie), and while the Iron Man movies are always entertaining enough, I'm not overly enthusiastic about them by any means (and I'm a teensy bit put off by RDJ's now-overdone comedic portrayal of the character).
Sure, maybe Ant-Man will be good, but I just can't imagine suddenly becoming a nut for Ant-Man, of all characters. He's good for a laugh, at best. I'm just not a fan of Black Panther at all. And I just don't like Benedict Cumberbatch, so Doctor Strange is probably a no-go for me as well.
The only saving grace might be the Gaurdians of the Galaxy movies (still haven't seen the first, so I have no real opinion yet) or the Inhumans. But I was never really into those comics to begin with, so I have no idea if they'll be up my alley.

Maybe that's why I'm rooting for DC's plans so much at the moment. Suicide Squad looks shit, but the plans for all their other characters sound great to me. I'm certainly already a fan of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Black Adam, Aquaman, The Flash, and Green Lantern from the comics, so there's already a personal hook for me. I'm just hoping they can fit them all together believably and without too much cheese (which is the main thing that's always stood in these characters' way of working in live-action).

Oh, and I just read that apparently Olga Kurylenko was in the running to play Wonder Woman until Gal Gadot was cast. No matter how bad a movie might be, I'll still suffer it (and probably really enjoy it) if Olga Kurylenko is involved. So that's one strike against DC already. Shucks. Would have been nice to see her in that costume...

Goddamn it, thanks for reminding me this year is the last time i'll be in my twenties.

I just turned 26 last Monday and that's me over the tipping point towards 30, it does feel weird. I tend to hear off most people I know that are middle aged that your 30s are when you really discover yourself, so it ain't all bad, man. But really, you're only as old as you feel and if you still feel as youthful as you ever did, then that's a good thing anyway.

Chris Evans will be in Avengers 3 part 1 & 2. I see him saying in an interview the other day that he gets about 3 months off after filming the new Cap films then he'll be filming Avengers for 9 months, pretty crazy. His contact is up after that and he's made it quite clear he'll be done after his 6 movies are out of the way.

So I guess there's that to look forward to.

Oh shit, is he really? For some reason I kept thinking he had a five-movie deal.
All the same, thinking on this stuff has still made me realize how little I actually am into Marvel's movies. Hadn't really considered it before. Thought I liked them more, but really I was just interested in Captain America.
I might be more into Iron Man, if only his movies were more along the lines of the old comics I used to read. Too bad they aren't.

I just turned 30 last month, 1985 baby. I am approaching mid life crisis if things dont change, luckily there are glimmers of hope and this year has been a bit better and I have broadened my horizons this year a bit and im trying to make moves to get out more and just do more fun and exciting and profitable things. Ill post more about what im doing later.
