Japanese people love the mini and Volkswagen too :P

I remeber when 2 supplier visited us (men and woman). They came from Taiwan and when they saw my brother's Mini Cooper S, the man gone crazy and saying:

"Oh the Mini Cooper S!!"

And he started to make like he was driving in track and making the sound of the compressor hahahaha

On our cars I've seen the AEM EMS in place of the stock ECU, I've seen some good results. They run over $1000 though, so a lot tune via more basic air fuel controllers.

As far as mapping, sure. I'd suggest learning your cars factory fuel, timing and ignition maps. Fine tune via Wideband O2. Just read up and exchange notes with those on the same platform. Good luck!

I'll be tuning mine via: SAFC2, HKS EVC-S reading via Scanmaster Datalogger and WBO2's.

Trying to nail it, but worse comes to worse I'm lucky enough to live by (2hrs) Ray Pampena, world class tuner. At Pampena Motorsports they tune via the Dyno which is really helpful. They make a ton of safe power from the 3/S platform, so whether I nail it or not, I wouldn't mind dynoing mine and getting it fine tuned. Should be good either way though.

Well I haven't got the car yet so there's plenty of time to do the research. I'm also considering converting to Webber twin 40's. Apparently they give a lot more bang than a remap but the fueling is terrible. Cost wise they aren't far different and carbs are reasonable second hand anyway. Plus twin carbs sound sexy.

It's not that hard, trust me. ;-)

Yeah but you're a pimp, I can't quite compare.

Anyways, how was it?

Well, it was pretty easy for my Dad because he knew the salesman and basically got a employee discount. But used low-mileage S197 Mustang GT's are of abundance.

Just make sure you have a good credit score and a good driving record for your insurance.
