Had a fun filled Saturday, finally getting my Shenmue collection out of storage after 4 years. Feels great to have it safely back in my own hands.

But i also found my old N64 with a load of games and excitedly set it up tonight to have a blast of some old favourites. But with a 50" screen v scart connection, it just wasnt holding up at all, and looked terrible. So i downloaded Project 64 with all roms and absolutely loving it. The quality is as close to HD as you want, and its flying with no glitches. Every ROM, means i have so many memories to relive. The excruciating Hive of the Mantids from Turok 2. Serbia in Goldeneye, Mt. Fiji in Mystical Ninja, Termina from Majoras Mask, Mute City from F Zero X, Australia in F1 Grand Prix, Dave Seaman saving fucking everything in ISS 64, killing Mecca in Pilotwings.....

You get the picture.

I cant even begin to explain how happy it makes me feel every time I watch episodes of Dragon Ball Super. Something just lights up my mood and enjoyment when I watch it. I have a feeling Shenmue 3 is going to achieve a similar feeling once it comes out. In fact the 2 are very comparable for me, its been over 10 years since the last installment, both have had held a very special place in my heart on each of their respective artistic mediums. The wait and wonder and what ifs about the future of the these franchises, now I know they are happening and I even get to start enjoying one now! Its really alot more of a therapeutic blessing than it seems and one I really need right now. Cheers to the little things but oh so satisfying ones!

The animation has always been shotty in Dragon Ball, but after all the money the series has made you would think they would be able to make Dragon Ball Super be perfect every episode. Its a minor gripe and its only really noticeable in a few episodes. The reason is due to them using multiple animation studios to produce episodes for time/production reasons.

i prefer the original dragonball series (starring the teenager goku)...

Always been my favourite too. Dbz had too much filler and emphasis on fights for me to enjoy that much

At the risk of sounding like a total weeb nerd, Dragon Ball, as a whole, I think is really really well done and paced -- if you read the Manga. It's the quintessential adventure series and consistently interesting from beginning to end. I think I consider Dragon Ball to be very underrated, or at least misunderstood, despite being one of the most popular Manga series out there (since it's fanbase in the west is largely made-up of 20-somethings who are nostalgic about Super Saiyans or whatever). When I read the whole series, around age 20 or so, it got a nice emotional response out of me -- I'm even willing to admit I cried during the last few pages. Dragon Ball is more than just fighting, and is definitely not only for children, please give it a chance if you're one of the many who're biased against its popularity.

I'm not sure but I know there were people bitching about certain aspects of the animation in certain episodes. Things that any one could easily look over, and really arent that big of a deal but I did notice them, didnt take away the experience from me any, but internet opinions never cease to amaze.

Gotta agree with the animation quality of Super. Like with episode 2 there's already things like still frame background in a crowded restaurant with only the main characters moving, and there're also like basically slide-show segments. It's pretty bad.

The show in general is pretty bad from what I've seen of it though -- basically starts with filler.

Could never get into the original Dragonball.

Still more of a DBZ fan. I enjoyed the anticipation of heroes training, fighting, losing, then having them tap into this ultimate hidden power to defeat the baddie.

Then again, I enjoyed the characters more too. GT wasn't really that captivating from what little I saw.
