Overall i think City had a good transfer window. Slightly skeptical about Sinclair, and i'm seriously hoping Nastasic doesn't turn out to be another Stefan Savic (Thankfully we got rid of him). Looking forward to seeing them all in action though. Gutted about Nige and AJ but i trust in Mancini...

On another note, why didn't Chelsea, Spurs or Liverpool sign any more strikers?. Are Torres and Sturridge really gonna cut it for Chelsea?

I think DiMatteo is placing his eggs in the one basket with Torres. I would say he is of the midset that Torres is long overdue a goal rush, and that now Drogba has left, he will step out from his shadow and start burying them. Its a pretty big gamble, but judging on pre season and the first couple of Premiership games, then Torres can be a fomidible danger.

I keep expecting Edin Dzeko to do the same for us, i'm sure he's got goals in him. Maybe this season will be his. I'm not so sure about Torres myself, he was awful tonight. Haven't seen that boy in his true form since before the 2010 World Cup

Aye i didnt see the match, but listened to it in work. 4-1, but its some mickey mouse cup isnt it? I dont rate Torres much, and never have to be honest. Dzeko is a different class of player, but this season is going to the wire again. Maybe not be as dramatic as last season, but it will go down to the last season. I cant see Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal getting up there for the title, its a 2 horse race again.

Dzeko's an impact sub like Jono was. Bring him n Kolarov on and they completely change the game. I think he's scored more goals from comin on as a sub than he has from first team starts as well y'know (for us anyway)

He scored in that Notts County game after coming on to keep us in it, and scored on the final day. Not sure he'll like bench warming forever though.

Nah I'm not a scouser, but my mum is from oop north so I started supporting them due to her when I got into football in the early 90s - when they stopped winning everything.

I have to say I don't remember such a frantic deadline day as this was.
I was quite surprised Liverpool didn't get anyone else in, even some low key ones, like the german kid they signed.
Tottenham I think did well, I mean, how many Modric subs do you need? They'd already signed Sigurdsson, Dembelé... why another one? Could have signed a striker though.
Chelsea look very thin in midfield and defence. Very unbalanced.
City definitely got stronger, but I think they overspent on Javi. He can be as violent as De Jong, has just the one cap, and what has he won, really? Of course he might prove himself, but seems like a lot of money.

Finally, Falcao. It's insulting that such a tremendous player is working for a team that doesn't challenge for the title, and is stuck in Europa League again.

Think Spurs have 5 strikers now which should be enough IMO.

Ade, Defoe ?... Could Dempsey play as lone striker in 433? Maybe as the so called false 9.
Think Kane got moved on loan to Norwich wasn't it?

Fucking hell AVB, 5 man midfield DOES NOT WORK with the players we have. It didn't work when Harry tried it towards the end of the last season and it wont work now.

Agree completely. AVB plays that formation as a negative style of play, it drives me insane. He did it at Chelsea, and now he looks to be doing it at Spurs. Sure he changed it there, Dembele scored, then Snodgrass equalised and then he changes it back to 5 in the centre again!! Sure the fans started leaving early.
