I watched Spectre yesterday, such a disappointment. Don't worry, not spoiling anything. That Oberhauser/Bond backstory made me cringe, even more than the bad puns, the bad effects and the worn out action flick cliches. Even Waltz disappointed, with his performance reminding me more of The Green Hornet quality wise, than of Inglourious Basterds or Django Unchained for instance. He didn't write those lines of course. Still, Waltz will be Waltz, and it just was the same Waltz we've already seen a couple of times now. Which fits pretty well with the rest of the movie, as there in general is not much you haven't seen before. I liked some of the nods to past Bond movies, but that's pretty much it. I loved Casino Royale, loved Skyfall, loved Craig as Bond, but if you ask me, it's already time for a new actor again*, backed by better scripts and directing.

*Which we might actually get, according to recent rumours.

I think Craig said he'd rather slit his wrists than do another bond movie, so the passion just isn't there any more.

Never liked Craig as Bond anyway, so good riddance if he does exit. He just happened to be in two good Bond films, this one excluded.

Saw the Martian last night, now THAT'S a great film. Looking forward to Bridge of Spies tonight as well.

Saw Spectre. The shithead running the projector really didn't know what he was doing because it looked horrible. Very dull and blurry.

Aside from that it was pretty fun. Definitely the worst of Craig's films but certainly not a bad movie overall. Really liked the Mexican intro and the train scene previously mentioned.

With
the setup of Blofeld as a character
I'm looking forward to seeing the next one. It has potential to be a classic. They just have to get out of this overarching continuity they've got going. Its kinda stupid to me. That might mean they have to get rid of Daniel Craig to do so, but that's fine. I want a proper Bond film and with him it still feels like they're rebooting it 4 movies in. Get back to business as usual and take down some villains Commander.

Bond and Blofeld being "brothers", and Blofeld being envious of Bond and thus killing his own father and becoming the head of a world dominating criminal organization is the most stupid thing I've seen in quite a while though.

I still agree about the potential for future films. The way I see it, they could go with one of these options:
1) Craig Bond's girl gets killed again (or not) and they bring him back for one or two more movies.
2) You might have heard of that fan theory that says that the movies are all in the same continuity and "James Bond" is just the name the current 007 uses, and after a while somebody else takes up the role/job. That theory is utterly retarded of course, but what if in this case they actually did it like that? Craig Bond stays retired and Idris Elba Bond takes up the mantle. That way they could keep Moneypenny, Q, M, Blofeld and everything else that has been established while at the same time still refreshing things again. I don't think it's likely to happen and it might turn out retarded if done the wrong way. And I'm not even sure if it could actually be done the right way. Bond has to be the one and only Bond after all. I don't know.

The thing is they just introduced Blofeld in that world they set up, and he lives, so they have to do something with him.

Yeah it was pretty stupid. I mean that was pretty much the plot to the third Austin Powers movie so now its a rehash of a parody of James Bond.

As for the next movie I think they might try and do Craig at least one more time but it would be for the best to just stop now. The more Bond central story lines are making it harder to keep going. The only way to go from here that would make as big an impact as the stuff in Skyfall would be something finalizing like Bond quitting or dying or something. And that's not happening because this shit needs to go on forever.

Since they're probably going to squeeze one more out of Danny boy I think they should start the movie as though the girl(and most of the plot points) from this one never existed, or explain her out since she didn't want to be with an assassin anyway, have Blofeld escape prison while on trial or something, do some evil shit and set up a proper more Casino Royale-y spy movie.

Watched escape from NY. It was alright, though I think my favorite part was when the president plays the music tape on the global stage.

So in the hype of all the Star wars stuff and the movie coming out, i decided to finally watch the star wars films, ive only watched episode 4: a new hope so far, im going with the machete order which is 45236 and ignoring 1. So recently ive watched A new hope and i can say is that, i feel alot of deja vu going on while watching some parts of the film, might sound weird because i've never seen it but with all the parodies and stuff that the media has done all these years ive bassically been familiar with some stuff now on, i liked the space battle at the end and found some of the dialogue from those robots pretty amusing. The whole part when obe wann told look to use the force while he was in the spaceship reminded me of the Ryo vs Don Niu rooftop scene in Shenmue 2 when Ryo remembers about li shao tao's training and successes the goal.

All in all, i did enjoy the film but it was average imo, maybe the films get better but this movie didn't feel like it deserved the tremendous success it had, it sure feels dated in some aspects too, maybe thats me seeing it in 2015 eyes but im still gonna contine with the rest. So yeah.

It's better to think of Star Wars as a film of its time, before everyone and anyone copied it and lampooned it.

Oh yeah, IV looks pretty outdated compared to the next two.

Definitely. A New Hope looks like a semi-typical 70s movie in a lot of ways, while the two sequels look every bit as polished as, at the very least, a 90s blockbuster.

Watch the first movie if you're going to bother watching all of them -- it's a HELL of a lot better than episode 2, which is complete trash. Episode 1 is an ok movie. Jar Jar Binks is fucking fine and not that bad (people just are whiney as all fuck and it's trendy to hate Jar Jar), the sets, costumes, and overall design is way way way way way more interesting than anything in episode 2 and episode 3, and the story beats actually feel like they have purpose -- rather than George Lucas not knowing what to do with a character and having them roll around in flowers or battle some stupid fucking robot on a space lizard for what seems like an eternity. And lastly, the "lightsaber porn" is really at a minimum in Episode 1 -- which is just horrible in Episodes 2 and 3. People try to tell me that the lightsaber battles in the prequel trilogy are cool... fucking please... there's nothing cool about watching faggot-ass jedis flip around and wave neon lights for 30 minutes. Anyway, Episode 1 is the best of the prequel trilogy. Forget that dumb order that someone suggested, it doesn't make any viewing experience better or whatever the fuck. Just watch them 4,5,6,1,2,3 and then move on.

Rant over.

EDIT: I also literally just spent all day today watching all six of them in a row, so my opinion is fucking fresh as can be.

EDIT2: Also, Empire Strikes Back is the reason why Star Wars is so successful today.

Actually watching Empire right now..

And ya just like Thief said, Episode 1 is actually the best of the prequels imo. You could watch Ep. 1 and be set for life. Episode 3 is nice to have but still a poor Star Wars movie.
and Ep. 2.. thats the worst. Skip that one if you skip anything at all. Completely worthless imo.

Watching them in order of 45236 and skipping 1 is a pretty dumb idea, especially since you haven't seen them. Episode 1 is a fun movie to watch. 2 is easily the worst. Easily. Such a pile of garbage compared to 1 and 3 lol. Just watch them all. If you've watched 4, follow it with Empire and Return of the Jedi. A New Hope came out what, like 38 years ago? It was a hole different ball game in 1977 than it is now. Wait until you see how the quality improved for the next two.
