British or American Comedy?

(Discuss literally anything here including introductions)

I mean for christ's sakes, Jim Carrey came from there!

Whilst Jim is a great comedian, he is an even better drama actor I think!

I prefer British humour, but Americans are great with it. Scrubs & South Park are perfect at it - and the best programmes ever. Blackadder & L.O.G.s are dons too.

British comedy, easy. Greats such as Ronnie Barker, John Cleese and Peter Sellers.

Who can forget classics that Monty Python pushed out, or comedies like Blackadder and Open All Hours.

America have some decent comedies, but they don't actually make me LAUGH like British comedies do.

I like Brit comedy, but my favorites by far are Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks.

Im not gonna say this guys the best stand up comedian in the US. but damn hes one of the funniest maybe not the most popular but the man is amazingly funny.
Jim Gaffigan, seriously watch or listen to any of his stand up specials, "Doing My Time", "Beyond the Pale" "The Last Supper" i could watch his beyond the pale dvd 10 times a day and still laugh at every punch line he delivers them so well.

Yeah, that's my favourite show of all-time. The characters were perfect (especially George Costanza), it was well-written, and the humour wasn't all 'obvious' or 'slapstick' as others have said.

I don't really have a preference as far as American vs. British humour goes overall, though. I don't really watch all that much TV anymore, to be honest.

I do love Kids in the Hall, though (which is neither American nor British).
