As I watch too much american bullshit TV, I always find it funny when some yank survives some 'life-threatening' illness or escapes a dangerous stunt. So many come out with the phrase:

<i>"God was looking out for me"</i>

or

<i>"God was on my side that day"</i>

(Yes, I know not only yanks say it, but it's too common on american TV shows)

Anyway, I think it's all bullshit and you either survive or you don't.

What do you guys think? Will God save anyone?

Please vote on the poll also.

What if GOOOOOD was OOOOONE of UUUUS!

He'd sure as hell be suffering just like the rest of us, that's for sure. Its all chance, like the lottery. It's impossible to save everyone so might as well make it only a select few.

I think that "God is looking over us." stuff is complete crap. He or she does keep track of our lives, but he or she doesnt protect us from danger. Well, unless he or she wants to. Wtf am I going on about? Well, short answer is that we are God.

I'm an ass and tired right now so I wont explain what I'm saying but seriously, think about it. No, I'm not referring to people making up the idea of God. This could also be one of my sensless late night posts, who knows?

Was it God that created man?

Or was it man who created God?

Bigots? How? Your comment is purely based on God existing. If God doesn't exist, then it wouldn't matter much now would it?

This could be the endless debate, i'm gonna say i do believe in some sort of God but not that he/she looks over us. Of course others will say no because we can't prove if God exists but we cant prove tht God doesn't exist aswell. My reason for believing in some form or God is due to the fact that there are times when a person could escape death in what somme would call a miracule, it just makes me think how the fuck did that person not lose they're life. I'm more of a destiny believer.

If I did believe in a God, it would be a non-interventionist one. If he does intervene, he's one cruel fucker. Why should us white men have such a good life, while massive amounts of people are suffering elsewhere from starvation, disease, war, and gang violence?

I thought a certain Christian idea is that you are rewarded after death, rather than the Jewish system, by which God cares for his people provided they continue to obey his laws. The former makes more sense to me, given observations of the world.

You seem to really like that word. I don't get it, apart from maybe the OP by a stretch, who here is being intolerant?

The thing is, the situations you see on TV are only the few instances where some guy gets extremely lucky and survives. There are probably more people dying from the things you see on the tube, but they aren't going to show those cases, are they?

if God does exist (which is another debate ane one that won't end because theres no proof on either side) I think he moreso created the world and let things unfold. Otherwise, why would so many bad things happen? I don't think God is looking out for people. That, or else in Bruce Almighty style, he only has so much time to help people.

God is merely a human concept, and therefore, does not exist.

So is a hot dog, and that exists.

But it depends on if you believe in your religion, so all of you who are wrong will find out when you die. So you are going to hell, or you are going to take the eternal dirt nap, either way you are screwed.

So I say, have faith in god, and if he is real, then you will be rewarded.

I'm not huge into god, and I don't think you have to be to have faith in him. I'm not the type of person who will say, "Thank you god, for blessing me with this talent of being able to break a wine glass over someone's head and get away with it." Or I wouldn't say "God saved me from the wild, carnivorus panda/koala/fajita/ platapus."

You get what I'm sayin'?
