The two different art styles would clash, therefore causing an implosion.

But surely Naruto would have a flasback halfway through the fight?

Only after Goku powered up for twenty episodes.

You'd think he would power up before the fight started, you know, save some time.

I actually admit, I have never seen DragonBall in any of its forms (apart from the first couple of episodes of the original series).

The original Dragon Ball series is nothing like Dragonball Z. Other than the characters ofcourse. Especially early on. It was more comedic than anyhting else.
