haha I can imagine people might act on the last day of gamespy hosting acting like the last day of school.

A free for all,not like anyone can do anything that will stop them.

I don't know how HR plans to do the staff on the new site..keep the same people (plus Yama of course) or a mix of new and old staff. but I am pretty sure it will have far less people of course since most the members signed up to these forums are either banned or left alter ego's bots and other stuff and mostly the core active people will sign up first.

I guess HR will address that later when things get closer to the end date.

Keeping the name could keep it recognizable. Even people who aren't a member here often know the name "Shenmuedojo" at least. Especially since it's also visible in the cutscene video's.

Maybe all you folks should start a non-Shenmue gaming/general discussion site. It's too much of a niche. People aren't playing the game much anymore, maybe some ironic 'replays' on Something Awful or what have you, but there's no future userbase to draw from.

Unless Shenmue III comes out, which has seemed unlikely since... I don't know, since I've been a member here. Weirdly, I don't check in as much as I used to, it's going to be my sixth anniversary in two days.

Still, when that last day is coming, folks should reach out to all the older members they know and see if they can get a bit of a reunion going. People pop in one final time, one last kiss to send this forum into oblivion.
