Fuller house season 2. I grew up watching these sitcoms so it was only natural that I watch this revival. It's actually pretty funny to be honest. Shut up don't make fun of me.

Person of Interest.

Reminds me a lot of Burn Notice, similar ex-CIA badass theme. Michael Weston from BN was more likeable than John Reece from PoI is though. And BN had the mighty Bruce Campbell in it! Some basic editing errors that even someone who's not into the whole critic thing like me notices (like where he pulls away on a motorbike, filmed from the right against a backdrop of constant NY traffic. Camera above shows him pulling away and tailing a vehicle on a deserted street. As if it was wasn't noticable enough straight away, they then pan back to the camera on the right showing the bike now moving next to a yellow taxi, then back to the above camera, empty street again! How didn't anyone notice that? Some of the slaps obviously don't connect either and/or the slap sound hasn't quite been timed right.)

Still an addictive show though, even though there's no Bruce Campbell the other characters are fairly interesting. I'm near the end of season 3 and it's starting to really heat up wit the the current main evil mastermind starting to take his gloves off. Most of the fight scenes are pretty decent too. Has some cheesy humour, but is still mostly moderately dark and gritty, I find humour in these shows important. A huge roster of I'm-gonna-pause-this-to-Wiki-who-plays-this-character-and-how-many-other-TV-shows-I've-seen-them-in type actors. A solid enough 7/10 so far.

Kinda scary concept too, I mean I know some of the stuff is impossible (like jacking into every CCTV camera. Aren't most CCTV systems a closed loop with no outside network connection?), but I think something like "the machine" is probably already working in a lesser capacity to what is depicted on the show, or at least being worked on, by governments worldwide. Just with much less hassle than the PoI get caught up in and WAY less evil bad guys wanting to kill everyone who knows about it.

Just finished binge watching the show from season one to current, and can't disagree more. I think the newest season is so incredibly good and I'm so bummed it stopped where it did.

There're a lot of things I respect about the show, in that it doesn't fall into so many "season" like framings of other shows. Things will happen and they may or may not have any long lasting impact on the show, but the instances themselves may be interesting enough to warrant existing (or building character). Also really like how they'll sometimes just spend whole episodes on one character or group of people. It's a really really slow paced show though, so I can understand how it may feel like a chore, but idk, i love it.

I also don't feel like this show is deliberately making choices in order to be emotionally manipulative (like Game of Thrones does), which is refreshing. Nothing turns me off more than when I can see the "corporate" decision over the death of a character or something -- seeing the inner frameworks of the decision-making process.

In short, I respect the show a lot for being good/interesting in its production and for not being cheap and manipulative in its shock-value.

freaking spoilers but...
I'm so sad Abraham is gone. It was one of those instances where I didn't necessarily feel sad that he died, but was just kind of sad that I wouldn't get to see any more scenes with him. He was such a great character.

I'm watching Humans. It's pretty good if you like sci-fi/robot shit. A few of the characters are a bit pointless, but I'm enjoying it despite that.

I am watching 'Medium' on TV and playing video poker at casinoz.club. I finally have a day off, so later will probably watch Black Mirror. I love these series. These are television anthology series that show the dark side of life and technology.

You probably won't be disappointed, Black Mirror is exactly that, very dark and mostly based on concepts that could conceivably be real in a decade or two, which is why the darkness to it is quite raw and very obviously designed to make moderately geeky/gamer/internet people uncomfy, which it did quite a lot in my case!

Just finished Shooter with Ryan Phillippe which was on Netflix. Really solid Action TV show with some great action scenes and intense suspense scenes. Muuuch better than the movie (also based on the book). Recommended if you fancy a good Action TV series.

Now on to the Belgian Mystery series The Break (subtitled) also on Netflix. Which is also real good.

So the batch of DC shows just started up again, and it's just... kind of bumming me out. I generally enjoyed them so much as I binged through them on Netflix before (they're usually kinda dumb, but at least they remained fun), so this is my first year actually following them week to week on tv, and unfortunately it seems like they chose this year to just... seriously drop in quality.
Or no, correction: The Flash has totally dropped in quality.
Arrow is actually really strong this season. Aside from a couple of dumb moments, the new characters are great (Wild Dog in particular), Green Arrow himself has gone back to killing motherfuckers (which just makes the action so much more fun), and the requisite flashback sequences are getting more and more interesting (they just introduced Talia al Ghul, it appears, and that's all kinds of cool). And it has to be said: Stephen Amell has really grown into a great screen presence. Best actor in all of the DC shows, easily. Takes hokey dialogue and makes it work. Bravo to him.
But Legends of Tomorrow remains just... dumb fun. Yeah, it's still entertaining, but it's not terribly compelling anymore. It's fun enough, it's just... not great. They could easily cancel it, and there would be no ramifications for any of the other shows. It's kind of cringe-worthy most of the time anyway.
And The Flash has taken a GIANT step backwards, suddenly making the tone all downbeat, turning some of it's most likable characters into some of its most dickish and annoying, and suddenly turning all the superpowered stuff into an idiotic slog to sit through. Wally West was such a fun character in the comics (and the cartoon), but here he's the single stupidest character the show has ever had. Just an absolute moron who makes you want to facepalm every time he does anything. Barry Allen is now a mopey, emo douchebag (Grant Gustin seriously needs to course-correct that annoying grumble his voice gets when he's trying to speak quietly). The only truly likable character in the whole show anymore is Tom Cavanagh's character, but that's just because it's Tom Cavanagh and he's awesome.

I blame it all on Supergirl. That was an absolute shit show when it was on CBS (who rightfully cancelled it), but now that it's been picked up by the CW, it's infecting the other shows with all its shittiness. First season was one of the most moronic seasons of television I've ever bothered to watch, and now The Flash is seemingly starting to take after it with a similar sense of shittiness.
Fucking Supergirl. You suck so much.
But at least Arrow is still good.

I know no one cares, I just had to rant.

^ Rants like that can be cathartic for those who read them, too, so thanks for pissing all over (I'll just ignore the positive part about Arrow and Amell) these cringeworthy shitshows. :D

I am re-watching Burn Notice whilst I await the next season of Person of Interest on Netflix, whether it be UK or US proxy (which is the only thing letting me watch Burn Notice right now). Have to say, even though The Mighty Bruce Campbell pretty much plays the same character whatever his role, he is fucking awesome regardless, and Burn Notice would be a much lesser show without his presence!
If only Person of Interest could have cameo'd him in somehow...
He'd have been great in "Chuck" too, although he'd almost certainly have had to have been a bad guy, so would have got his ass kicked, which is less becoming of him...

Jack Nicholson is probably the greatest example of an actor who seems like an unstoppable force of nature (who also plays quite similarly in a lot of his roles, i.e. pretty much himself a la The Brucey baby), but The Mighty Bruce Campbell, even though, as an actor, he is WAY less of a high profile than ol' Jack, manages to blow in roughly the same direction to almost as good of an effect!

Just watched the first episode of Legion, the new show on FX that's pretty much an X-Men spinoff. Far as I can tell, it's kinda sorta based on The New Mutants, but I'm still a little foggy on whether it's actually supposed to be a part of the X-Men movie universe, or something else.
All the same, shocked to say this, but... that seriously had to be one of the greatest first episodes I've ever seen. Of anything.
That one, single episode contains more artistic and creative value than all of the Marvel Netflix shows combined. Such a goddamn visual treat. The set design, the imagery. Just a beautiful, glossy friggin show, backed up by really inventive direction, editing, and effects. I was hooked from the very first minute, and obviously wanted more by the end.
That being said, this is only one episode. And it's one episode which begins with quite a good amount of mysteriousness, but clears most of that mysteriousness up by the end. It's entirely possible that the rest of the series could be totally straightforward, lacking in mystery, and nowhere near as interesting as the first episode.
But I'm really hoping that's not the case. Trying hard not to spoil anything, since I think watching it with no real prior knowledge (as I did) is the best way to go. But all I'm hoping is that some level of mystery remains.
If the rest of it is as good as the first episode, this honestly could be the show that proves there are still compelling directions to take the X-Men universe in, that don't necessarily have to involve Wolverine and whatnot.
Here's hoping.
