I've moved the PS3 to where the DVD's were on the right and put the 360 where the PS3 was.

One way to test the magnetic field of each speaker is to put each one next to the side of the TV and the field would turn the screen purple. BUT I don't know if it will work on LCD's, never tried it. Now days I just keep all the speakers away from the TV unit. Except for the center speaker of course.

^The magnetism has no effect on an LCD, only on a CRT TV, since the effects you see on screen when you put a magnet near a CRT TV are as a result of the electrons from the electron gun (the mechanism by which a CRT TV works) getting influenced by the magnetic field. Yes, I found this out by waving megnets near various LCDs, even though I knew the theory anyway. ;)

First off my PS2 with a pile of games to play. That PC is broken and doesn't work so I use the monitor as a display, via that X-adapter. Sound is nothing special either.

Image
This is the amplifier and turntable I inherited from my grandfather, it's pretty cool and works well. It came from Africa and it has that cool 70s wooden finish. Below is my vynil record collection and some magazines as well.

Image
Those are my speakers, tape deck and CD player, all quite old. In that bag on the left is my foutrack tape recorder.

This is a big part of my entertainment. Hundreds upon hundreds of books, coming from the entire household.

Finally my two acoustic guitars, which lately have been getting a lot more play than the electric ones. Pretty cheap as well, the spanish one has a lot of "combat" dents.

With the amount of games in the 'Last Game You Bought' topic I want to see where you manage to keep all them.

My games are scattered around various places but tomorrow I can post some pics.

As for the retro, as far as things still work... I like the look as well, but it's mainly because I don't want to spend hundreds of euro on new equipment.

You have to cut corners somewhere!

Vyse,I always kinda liked the PAL spines on PS2 games, uniformed and white so it's easy to read.

Also notice you have Everblue games which I wonder how they compare to Arika's other underwater series Endless Ocean.

Interesting cabinet also.

@MK dear lord that is gross around your PC.
I want that Patchinko machine however.

I know this is suppose to be for more geeky tech stuff but this is what's been entertaining me lately:

Image

Super bullet strings worked better than the Ernie Ball ones (go fig). Now it sounds awesome. Its a "Made in Mexico" Strat. And its purple/black, not white/black.

Image

Even though I haven't used it in awhile, I still love my 1940s Caliphone record player. I posted my record collection in another thread. I'm waiting 'till I can buy Beatle Records and complete my Nirvana vinyl collection.

Image

Demos are mostly what's keeping me entertained so far. The only game we have is Saint's Row 2 which I haven't played yet.

^ Old retro electronics to me is very geeky and interesting.

In fact later I will post pics of my 1950's TV.
