Superman

The things Superman deals with are vastly different than the emotions that arise from those situations. He is definitely a difficult character to write, and I have never seen it done well. Ever. The closest I have seen is Superman: Red Son. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I realize it is good. But it is definitely an exception. Supes is a character that has dealt with the death of his father, best friend, whole race.... twice, and I still must say that he did it stoically. Where is the dynamic emotion we want to see in a narrative driven character?

If I were Superman, I actually do struggle to think what I'd actually do first, once I'd got the hang of it a bit by picking cars up, making big waves by blowing at the sea, flying etc. Pretty sure I'd abuse the x-ray vision more or less straight away though, and continue to do so...

There are very few people in this world who would use their powers for good. You would get some newspaper or gossip mag slagging them off which would make them insane. Before you know it the building's in New York will look like someone had a game of Dominos.

Read that this morning. Apparently its been rumored since the 1950s. All we need now is Whitney Houston singing the theme song n we got Bodyguard 2.
