You cannot fault the casting here. Jean-Claude Van Damme together with Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Willis and Lundgren again.

Seeing as the PG rating talk is making its rounds. It would have went out of the window if James Cameron, John Mctiernan, Paul Verhoeven and John Woo were involved oh well.

I read reports that Chuck Norris wanted the cursing removed or else he wasn't in. Not sure if he wanted the action set pieces toned down but in any case i'll see it anyway. As lame as the original was, i'll pay for my ticket out of good faith.

Shame guys like Steven Seagal or Kurt Russell didn't make the cut.

Yeah Norris got it knocked down to a PG13 :???: Now i dont need lots of swearing but should he have a say seeing as it was announced his the worst rated male movie star ever?

It sucks but Stallone wanted as many old school action stars as possible. He wanted Van Damme really badly in the original but he declined.

Yeah, I fully acknowledge that my taste in films pretty much SUCKS, but even I was let down by the first one. It had the ingredients to be the perfect kind of "suck" film for me as well, all those names, it should have been a romp of big dumb action fun the whole way through (which is a genre I do usually quite like), but it didn't even manage that nearly as well as it could have done. :(

I probably will be seeing the second one regardless, though.

I'm surprised he would decline. His career has gone straight down the crapper. I think the last movie I saw him in was "The Quest". Or was it "Street Fighter"? I'm not sure, I try to forget.

I think he's doing smaller stuff right now. He did one called "JCVD" which was a fictional portrayal of himself a few years ago.

Ugh... the inclusion of Chuck Norris made me facepalm so hard my hand when through the back of my head. The guy is a fucking joke. Only good movie I've seen him in was a Bruce Lee flick, and he had no dialogue in it whatsoever.
Not to mention the fact that the first Expendables was one big pile of missed opportunity. Could have been so great, but it still managed to fail so hard.

Having said that though, Jason Statham saying the line "I now pronounce you man and knife" just as he pops a blade out of his sleeve... that actually won me over a bit.
That's like a classic Schwarzenegger line if I ever heard one.

So I'm a little bit torn. But I still think it'll suck. Especially if it's pg-13 like the buzz says.

What's wrong with Norris?

Regarding the rating, Stallone came out and said the film would be 'rated R'. Seemingly stepping over what he previously said it being a PG-13. Whether there's a seperate R-rated version being shown in cinema's, there's blatently going to be a seperate version on DVD next year..
