1990 film got it right. II film was dumbed down for kids. #rd was utter shit. 03 Ton was closer to the comic but I hated it. Took itself too serious. 80's toon is crap but nostalgic so I love it. Only thing that has ever gotten TMNT correct is the 1990 film.

Hopefully more adjustments meant throwing out the original script and reworking from the ground up after all the negative feed back from the original ideas from the script.

I love the first film. I liked the sequel more when I was 6 but looking back in hindsight, the original was perfect. It just has such a strong sense of family. And love. Not to mention it had Ralph being a total asshole, just the way we like him. (I'm shocked in hindsight how much he said Damn ) I have to confess I like the 03 cartoon, if only because the Shredder isn't such a total clown. I can get past the fact that the first cartoons shredder is a total buffoon despite being said to have a genius intellect. But the only thing "the Shredder" ever got to shred in that show was pizza dough.

If there was one exception though, when I thought that show was good, it was one where the shredder had developed a mutigion gun that he claimed could turn Splinter back to his former self. Instead he tries using it on the turtles as was his plan all along to revert them back to their original helpless turtle selves, but Splinter destroys it at the last moment to save them, thus depriving him his last chance of ever being human again in the process. I thought that was cool. Basically any episode when Splinter wasn't cooped up in the sewers was when you knew some serious shit was about to go down.

03 toon was pretty good til they jumped the shark. Al this space stuff and Shredder was an alien.\


The 2012 TMNT is really great. It has the feeling of the 80's cartoon while doing it's own thing. Even has Raph as Donny and every so often throws in a reference to the 80's cartoon. Esp when Mikey wore a mask of himself but looked like Mikey of the 80's

Bay almost did the same thing with the Children of the Corn. He wanted to remake it and not have the kids kill anyone.

The project manager fired his ass soon afterwards. Yes, even someone as powerful as Bay can get fired from projects.
