Who is your favorite character? Was this the first anime you ever saw?
Introducing the Sailor Moon topic!
Favorite Sailor Soldiers: Sailor Neptune and Sailor Mercury. I was jealous of Sailor Uranus.
Favorite Character: Moonlight Knight!
Cartoon Network aired this ages ago, and I was struck by the music. The dialogue made me laugh. It was the first time I saw anime and figured out what Japan was!

I have a friend who forced me to watch sailor moon when we were younger.
Easily Haruka Tenoh, yea she may be one of the least useful characters she has a certain qualities I relate to.

I still haven't seen Sailor Moon, but from what I heard while I was at uni the differences between the Japanese originals and what arrived outside Japan is very different topic/censorship-wise.

I ate that up when I was younger. 
It was the first anime I ever saw on television. It's hard to point out just what gives the show it's appeal. As far as cliches and monster of the week anime are concerned it's pretty by the numbers. Yet it's still fun to watch. >.< Maybe one of these days when I get broadband I'll watch the original subtitled into English as everything I hear suggests it was butchered in the dub. You don't need to hold your breath for a dvd release of the last season that never aired in the States though. The show is aimed as being a young girls show, but Japanese standards of what constitutes girls shows would be too old/mature for what America considers to be a kid friendly show. The people with the rights don't have the cash for another dub either and with every year that passes, fewer and fewer adult fans remain that could be counted on to buy it.

Samesies. I was in love with Sailor Neptune, but then she turned out to be a lesbian. Now I like Sailor Pluto because she's an older woman, possibly an immortal goddess, instead of a middle-schooler.

That awkward feeling you get when you wake up next to a 12 year old girl with braces. I'm sure we've all been there at one point or another.
